Join 9 Finger Ranch for a riding adventure on their ranch in rural Manitoba that combines staying in a rustic cabin for two nights with three guided trail rides of different lengths. You can book this package as pampered (all meals included) or economic (no meals included). This package is suitable for every level of riding experience - even if you have none so far!

Your cabin will be exclusively for your family/group. Each cabin (for up to 10 people) has a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom facilities, 2 bedrooms with bunk beds, a living room, and a deck to enjoy the gorgeous sunsets and the peaceful view over the fields.
Program
Day of arrival
After settling in, you will get to meet your horse for the length of your stay. After that, you will be given a quick “how to ride lesson” before taking you out on your very first ride: a one-hour ride at the ranch (homebound).
Day 2
You will be guided to ride on Riding Mountain National Park with Jumpstart, a two-hour tour. Enjoy lunch at a rustic backcountry campsite in the national park!
Day 3
Your last day starts with a 2-hour ride Buckaroo on the ranch property and includes a visit of a cattle herd. Use the chance to ask the cowboys all the questions you have about the more traditional way of raising beef cattle!
Included excursions
Please note that the rides are generally at a walking pace. For 9 Finger Ranch, trail riding is about enjoying the beautiful nature while having a great time connecting with people and horses - it is not about speed and adventure. The horses are well trained for what they want them to be - being reliable companions for trail rides - please do not expect fancy broke Western show horses.
Instructors
Val
Val, Ray’s wife, comes from Quebec and spent the summer of 2013 with 9 Finger Ranch to learn English and further her knowledge of horses. Fast forward four years and she’s not only fallen in love with Manitoba but also with Ray. She has her Western Riding Level 4 and will help you learn all you need to know about horseback riding. Despite having two small kids who keeps her busy, Val helps out once in a while with guiding a ride on the ranch or coming along for bigger groups.
Tom
Thomas loves his Tennessee walking horses and riding in the park. He has combined that love and is now sharing it with you as a certified licensed guide for the Riding Mountain National Park, Manitoba. From rides on the ranch to camping in the park, he will be with you all the way and share his wealth of knowledge of the park with you as well as stories from the last decades of guiding rides. Most of the rides in your package will be with Tom!
Jana
Starting as a guest herself, Jana has worked with us for a few years by now - as Tom always says, we can't get rid of her anymore! She is a licensed guide for Riding Mountain National Park, leads rides on the ranch property, and works with our young horses. Not to forget, she’s organizing rides and horses (and Tom ;-) ) in the background. Additionally, she is responsible for our website and social media activities - so, don't wonder if Jana takes pictures of everything and everyone!
Location
Rossburn is a charming small town in rural Manitoba. Centrally located between Asessippi Provincial Park and Clear Lake/Wasagaming, there is a lot to discover in the area. Nature, heritage sites, different activities, or whatever you prefer! The closest entrance to Riding Mountain National Park is only a 15 minutes drive from the ranch.

Starving after a day in the saddle?
Spoil yourself with the pampered version! Home-cooked meals are included. Breakfast will be self-serve in your cabin. Lunch on Day 2 will be provided and enjoyed in the national park. Suppers and lunch on Day 3 will be delivered to your doorstep.
On a budget? Choose the economic version. No meals are included in this option. Profit from the fully equipped kitchen in your cabin. Rossburn has a grocery store where you can stock up. There are some restaurants (also for takeaway) around.
