Program

Day 1, Malaga, Spain (Europe)

Welcome to Costa del Sol, the city of Malaga in beautiful Spain. A walk in the city center reveals monuments from the Phoenician, Roman, Arabic, and Christian eras making it an open-air museum. Try the traditional Spanish cuisine and prepare for the two-wheel adventure.

Day 2, Malaga - Ronda - Algeciras, 213 kilometers / 132 miles

  • Riding duration: about 4 hours and 2 minutes riding

Used as a fortified post by the Romans, the village of Ronda is known for its 18 century Puente Nuevo over El Tajo Gorge. Continue your journey to the Bay of Gibraltar. Spend the evening in Algeciras, Spain.

Day 3: Algeciras, Spain (Europe) - Ceuta, Spain - Tetuan - Chefchaouen (Morocco, Africa), 146 kilometers / 91 miles

  • Riding duration: about 4 hours and 51 minutes riding

Cross the strait of Gibraltar today. Connecting the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea, the strait separates Gibraltar and Spain Peninsular in Europe from Morocco in Africa. Ride to Tetuan in the Martil Valley where you can try your first whiskey berbere, a mint tea made with gunpowder pearl green tea. Continue your adventure riding Riff Mountains to Chefchouen, known as the Blue Pearl of Morocco.

Day 4 : Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Fez, 250 kilometers / 155 miles

  • Riding duration: about 4 hours and 20 minutes riding

Have a morning ride to Volubilis, the ancient capital of the kingdom of Mauretania, one of Morrocco’s best preserved Roman Ruins. Continue your journey with the city of Fez also known as the Mecca of the West. Spend the night in a traditional Riad and enjoy a walk in the Medina Fes el Bali, a UNESCO World Heritage site believed to be one of the world's largest urban pedestrian areas.

Day 5: Fez

Enjoy a rest day in Fez. Known as Athens of Africa, Fez will offer you the opportunity to tour the local souk, visit the oldest tannery in Africa, meet the local artisans, and try the delicious street food. How does camel meat sound?

Day 6: Fez - Er Rachidia, 336 kilometers / 209 miles

  • Riding duration: about 5 hours and 15 minutes riding

Tizi N Tlghoumte Pass crossing the Atlas Mountains is next on your adventure. The sinuous road takes you to the famous Tunnel Zabal also known as the Tunnel of the Legionnaires. The 50 meters long tunnel was built by the French foreign legion in 1930 and the Valley of the Ziz River. Spend the evening in Er Rachidia.

Day 7: Er Rachidia - Merzouga, 120 kilometers / 75 miles

  • Riding duration: 2 hours riding

The scenery changes as you ride in the Merzouga Desert to the Sand Dunes of Erg Chebbi. Enjoy the view of the large seas of dunes formed by wind-blown sand and mount on your camel and ride to the sunset in the desert. Tented accommodation in a desert camp with traditional Moroccan dinner will be an authentic experience.

Day 8: Merzouga - Tinghir, 304 kilometers / 189 miles

  • Riding duration: about 5 hours and 30 minutes riding

Close to Tinghir, you will find one of the most spectacular canyons in the World. When the high rocks close in around the road you are riding on, you know you arrived in Todra Gorge. Evening in Tinghir.

Day 9: Tinghir - Boulmane Dades - Ouarzazate, 212 kilometers / 132 miles

  • Riding duration: about 4 hours and 10 minutes riding

Orchards of fig, almonds, and olives sit at the foot of the mighty Atlas Mountain. Offering a dramatic landscape, each turn offers a new view of the valley. Continue the journey to Ouarzazate, a caramel colored oasis. A noted film-making location, Ouarzazate is the place where Lawrance of Arabia, the mummies or the Gladiator movies were filmed.

Day 10: Ouarzazate - Tizi-n Tichka Pass - Marrakech, 197 kilometers / 122 miles

  • Riding duration: about 3 hours and 50 minutes riding

Continue on the Route of 1,000 Kasbahs and cross the High Atlas Mountains. Stop at Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a fortified village along the former caravan route between the Sahara Desert and Marrakesh – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Cross Tizi-n Tichka Pass on your way to Marrakesh. The pass reaches 2,260 meters above the sea level and it is the highest major mountain pass in North Africa. Spend the evening in Marrakech.

Day 11, Marrakech

It is a free day. You can choose to explore the red city of Marrakech with its Majorelle Garden, Jamal Efna City Square, and Koutoubia Mosque. If you choose to ride, an adventure of motorbike ride crossing the difficult Tiz-n-Test Pass, 2,100 meters in altitude is recommended. Spend an evening in Marrakech.

Day 12: Marrakech - Rabat

  • Riding duration: about 2 hours riding

Ride north of Morocco along the Atlantic Ocean Coastline to its capital city, Rabat. Whitewashed houses, narrow streets, and Rabat Medina make it a great place to wonder. Spend the evening in Rabat.

Day 13, Rabat - Assilah - Tangier

Ride to Assilah, a fortified town and the best beach on the north-west coast of the Atlantic Ocean. Continue your journey to Tangier, a city that has been described as the exotic mystery, interesting history, beautiful vistas, and unspoiled beaches. Spend the evening in Tangier.

Day 14, Tangier, Morrocco (Africa) - Tarifa, Spain (Europe) - Malaga, 201 kilometers / 125 miles

  • Riding duration: about 4 hours and 10 minutes riding

Today, you leave Africa behind. Catch the morning ferry to Tarifa (Spain) put the wheels of your motorbike on Europe land and ride on the Mediterranean coast to Malaga. Spend the evening in Malaga.

Day 15, Malaga

Catch your flight back home or expand your vacation. Spain has many treasures waiting to be discovered.
