Program

Day 1: Welcome to Merida

Welcome to Merida City! Today, after your arrival at Merida International Airport, your driver will be waiting for you at the airport, he will drive you to the hotel. After the check in, you will have the rest of the day to discover the nearby places by your own.

Day 2: Walking street food tour

This day, you will have the opportunity to sample traditional dishes, explore the city’s main market, eat at a seafood restaurant, and visit a shop that sells homemade ice cream. You will be able to enjoy fruit, juices, and the famous roasted suckling pig and pork along with local tamales, panuchos, polcanes, and salbutes. You willl also have the chance to savor fresh seafood tacos from Yucatan’s coast.

Day 3: Cantinas walking tour

During this tour, you will visit three completely different cantinas. Each cantina is close from each other, so you get there by walking while admiring downtown Merida and its attractions. These cantinas could be the equivalent to the old western saloons! Some of the oldest cantinas in Merida even have the saloon type doors! In each cantina, you will have a glass of beer, some snacks, share tons of stories, and have a blast.

Day 4: Visit to Uxmal, lunch, visit to the Chocolate Museum, and cenote

This tour will take you on a unique experience! Visit Uxmal archaeological site, one of the most important pre-Hispanic capitals, declared a Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Have lunch and learn about the importance of cacao in the Mayan culture in the Chocolate Museum. Enjoy a delicious swim in the cenote Kankirixche in Abalá.

Day 5: Depart from Merida

This is your last day in Merida City. By the morning, your driver will pick you up at your hotel lobby to take you to the international airport of Merida, this is where the trip ends. Goodbye Merida!

Merida is the capital and largest city in Yucatan State and the cultural and financial capital of the region.
