One of the highlights of our journey awaits as you embark on a Gorilla Trekking adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Prepare to be humbled and inspired as you trek through dense forests in search of these gentle giants. Coming face to face with a family of mountain gorillas is an extraordinary and emotional experience, and one that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on your heart.

Itinerary

Day: 1 - Arrival Kampala

You will arrive in Entebbe and take delivery of rental bikes. Spend the rest of the day taking in a couple of sights in and around the area, you will have a group evening meal at the hotel's beach restaurant with a chance to get to know your fellow adventurers and guide, any doubts concerns or questions now’s the time.

Day: 2 & 3 - Murchison Falls

Today will be spent riding to the Murchison Falls National Park. Murchison Falls National Park sits on the shore of Lake Albert, in northwest Uganda. It’s known for Murchison Falls, where the Victoria Nile River surges through a narrow gap over a massive drop. Park wildlife includes (but is not limited to) elephants, Lions, Giraffe, and hippos, and there are chimpanzees in the Kaniyo Pabidi mahogany forest. The Lake Albert Delta is home to rare shoebill storks.

Your first night will be at red chilli rest camp. Here you will board a boat for a 3-hour safari up to the falls expecting lots of hippos elephants and crocs. Your second night will be wild camping in the park allowing us to do morning and evening game drives on your motorbikes, (accompanied by your armed ranger) and spend the night around a campfire enjoying the African sounds and having a BBQ.

Day: 4 & 5 - Fort Portal

A dramatic landscape of crater lakes cupped under steep hillsides, the area south of Fort Portal offers travelers a scenic retreat ideal for long walks and road cycling, You will spend 2 nights at Crater Lake and the options are to visit a tea plantation, visit a local village and spend time learning about African crafts and skills, ride to the far congo border with the chance to join a chimpanzee trek.w

Day: 6 & 7 - Queen Elizabeth Ntl Park

Today you will ride to the park and enjoy a 3-hour boat safari Queen Elizabeth National Park is in southwest Uganda. Leopards roam the Mweya Peninsula, which lies beside Lake Edward. Nearby Lake Katwe is a huge volcanic explosion crater. Boats on the Kazinga Channel float past hippos and Nile crocodiles. Chimpanzees inhabit the Kyambura Gorge. Trails lead to bat caves in the central Maramagambo Forest.

The Ishasha area is home to tree-climbing lions and shoebill storks. You will meet your ranger and explore the park on your motorbikes looking for the lions and leopards a truly unique experience only available with African moto adventures, and enjoy an evening drink watching hippos walk past your accommodation. The next day will be an early start to get the best game drive in Uganda you will return to camp for lunch, and you will ride to the Ishaha sector of the park to see the incredible tree-climbing lions, being on a motorcycle means you can get to places the safari land rovers cant and with your ranger leading the way it will be an unforgettable experience.

Day: 8 & 9 - Lake Bunyonyi

Today you ride to Lake Bunyonyi which is in southwestern Uganda between Kisoro and Kabale, and it is close to the border with Rwanda. The lake appears on the 5,000 Ugandan shilling note under the title "Lake Bunyonyi and terraces" Here you have 2 options 1 to explore the lake and its amazing scenery including a canoe trip or for the real adventurers (2 get up very early and ride to Bwindi impenetrable national park meet your guide and do a gorilla trek depending on the location of the gorillas this could take from 30 min to 4 hours and is physically demanding, but often the words once in a lifetime experience are used when what they mean is amazing experience but trust African Moto Adventures "this is once in a lifetime!"

Day: 10 - Lake Victoria

Today you will ride to the hotel on the shores of Lake Victoria relax enjoy the almost Caribbean atmosphere chance to unpack your bikes relax share pictures and stories, and have a last meal together before leaving the pearl of Africa

Bike rental deposit

African Moto Adventures asks that all guests hiring a bike bring with them a credit card. African Moto Adventures will take the credit card details of each guest and hold them until the bike is returned to the shop and any damages are noted down and charged (the maximum charge for bike damage or loss is 1000 GBP).

Riding gears

The riding gear is not included and African Moto Adventures recommends all guests bring with them a helmet, biking jacket and trousers, gloves, and biking boots or decent walking boots. There are a small number of riding gear available for hire from African Moto Adventures' partners in Africa but these are limited in supply and are often already rented out.

Your responsibilities

  • To advise African Moto Adventures of any illness, infirmity, allergies or dietary needs that may affect your touring holiday.
  • You must hold a valid Full UK motorcycle license for more than two years (if less please ensure a member of staff is aware)
  • Be a competent rider
  • Valid UK passport (ensure visa not required if non-UK)
