Their beautiful ‘Masia’ (wine farm) consists of 3 private villas, 1 large villa, and the 120 m² yoga shala. The beautiful 4×12 m² swimming pool is located at the far end of the garden between the fruit and palm trees. There is a wellness center with a jacuzzi and a sauna near the swimming pool area as well. It is an inspiring, idyllic, and peaceful place that can accommodate yoga retreats, meditation groups, and workshops of all kinds.
They offer accommodation for everyone's budget. You can sleep in a suite with your private jacuzzi, in a standard double room or sleep in one of the comfortable bunk beds. You can choose a private room or a shared accommodation.

Instructors
Ellen Christiaanse
Ellen took her first yoga classes at age 14. At that age, she wanted to become a vet. After that, she was a bit distracted for about 30 years by doing a master's in psychology and a doctorate in Information Systems at Harvard and MIT, and working for many years in the academic and consulting world. From 2005 on, she started to focus again on what life was really about and educated herself in healing techniques. In 2008, she left her academic career as an Associate Professor of Information Systems to dedicate herself to building Alaya Retreat Center at Masia Cal Pau Cruset near Barcelona.
Pierluigi Minicozzi
Pierluigi is a Hatha Yoga Instructor. He met Yoga while he was living in London in 2016 driven by the need of get in contact with his true Essence. This journey took him, 3 years later, in Rishikesh, India, where he certified as Allianz Yoga Instructor. He teaches in Italy and Spain during Festivals and in Retreat Centers. His curiosity about the mistery of life leads him towar different traditions and pratices that merge together during his classes in order to sustain the individuals to live in allignment between their Body, Mind and Emotion.
Mirjana Murataj

Mirjana came straight from India where she completed all her trainings and the biggest part of her yoga journey. From this holy land she brings the traditional practices such as Hatha yoga and Yoga Nidra, combined with the more modern Yin and Restorative yoga. She is a big fan of soundhealing and plays tibetan bowls to give meditation sessions for groups and individuals, chakra balancing treatment combined with aromatherapy and sound therapy with bowls massage. She speaks and leads classes in English, French, Italian and Spanish.

An idyllic space to calm the mind in the Penedés wine region of Barcelona, The Alaya Retreat Centre is located on a 150-year-old, recently renovated wine farm(“Cal Pau Cruset”) 45 minutes from Barcelona. It is surrounded by vineyards and a large garden with fruits, and olive, and almond trees.

Alaya Retreat Centre ensures that its guests eat healthy and tasteful food. The meals they offer are prepared with fresh, seasonal, and, for the most part, locally grown and produced ingredients. They can provide vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, lactose free and dietetic food.

Please book your flight to arrive at Barcelona–El Prat Airport (BCN). Taxi price from this airport is 110 EUR one way. Alaya Retreat Centre trusted local driver Jose will be waiting for you at the airport with a sign saying ALAYA /CAL PAU CRUSET. He will be waiting in terminal 1 in front of cafetaria gonatural, or in terminal 2 in front of the huge horse statue in puerta B. If you want a drop off service from Alaya to the Airport, it can be arranged on your arrival.
From the airport, you can take a train or a metro to plaza catalunya or sants in Barcelona and from there you can take the R4 train (5.40 EUR) to Vilafranca del Penedes and a taxi to Alaya Retreat Centre at Cal Pau Cruset (10 minutes) and 20 EUR. The train runs every half hour.
Arrival by train
Take the R4 train (the train runs every half hour) from Barcelona from one of these stations: arc de triumf, plaza catalunya or sants to Vilafranca del Penedes (52 minutes) and from there you can take a taxi to Alaya Retreat Centre at Cal Pau Cruset (10 minutes). The cost is 20 EUR. There are always taxis in front of the station.
