There are several regions to travel to within Bali, one of the most popular being Ubud, a town where travelers can enjoy a Zen atmosphere and world-class wellness centers and resorts. In Ubud, you can also visit one of Bali’s most popular attractions, the Monkey Rainforest, which is home to hundreds of long-tailed macaques.
However, if you prefer the beach over Ubud’s jungle, Canggu is your best choice. Featuring a laidback atmosphere, slick restaurants, street art, a laid-back vibe and Instagram-friendly cafes, “The Gu” offers a more relaxed alternative to the beach resorts in other southern towns.
Seminyak is considered the high-end area of Bali; think of it as a more sophisticated version of Canggu. It’s a place where you can find fancy restaurants, sleek bars, deluxe boutiques and spas where you can get a traditional Balinese massage. All in all, this upscale resort village in Southern Bali is perfect to treat yourself and relax.
Not as secluded as Ubud, Canggu and Seminyak, but still worth visiting, Kuta and Jimbaran are two other places to visit within Bali. Kuta is close to the city center and offers a bustling beach, lots of cafes, shops, and bars; and Jimbarana has nice calm beaches and the Uluwatu Temple, one of the island’s six key temples believed to be Bali’s spiritual pillars.
