The 5 Elements
Each of the 5 elements corresponds to one of the most important organ systems in our body and one of the 5 primary emotions:
- Water - Kidneys - Fear
- Wood - Finish - Anger
- Fire - Heart - Joy (Love)
- Metal - Lung - Grief
- Earth - Stomach - Fear
How these elements interact and influence each other also applies to how the relevant internal organs interact and influence each other.
A Holistic Approach
The physical body is made up of organs, ligaments, tissues, muscles, bones, etc., all of which correspond, interact, and affect each other. The same is true for all dimensions of being. The body, mind, energy, and soul all work together and act as one. Any problem that occurs in the body is only the symptom of a deeper problem that is coming to the fore in the weakest part of one's self at that time, usually in our physical body, but also in our spiritual or emotional body. Everything is one!
According to Taoist philosophy and modern quantum physics, everything in the universe is made up of and connected by cosmic energy (chi). Traditional Chinese medicine views and treats the human body as a miniature of the cosmos. Since everything in the universe is connected, the same applies to your body.
The Tools
Your fundamental tool in this week of healing, cleansing, and energizing body, soul, and spirit will be the art of Qi Gong. A Chinese art of Saman origin that very often imitates animals and has its origins in the 4th century BC. Qi Gong literally means energy exercises and has multiple benefits for the human body. Apart from harvesting, storing, and cultivating cosmic energy (Chi/Qi), Qi Gong releases stagnant energy from the body's energy channels, which is the cause of all diseases. Qi Gong is an important part of TCM and is still prescribed by Chinese doctors today.
- Energy breathwork helps us to bypass our consciousness, the control, penetrate deeper into the subconscious and release blocked emotions and energy knots.
- Voice work helps you create vibrations that also help you release energy blockages and energize your centers, while also helping you release emotions and open yourself up.
- Physical theatre work helps you to relax and understand your body while helping you to move in space and time and to communicate with others.
- Meditation is the glue that holds everything together and a way to stimulate the healing process of body, mind, and soul.
The task
First and most importantly, it is about getting to know your body, finding a good way to deal with it, respecting it, and listening to it. At the same time, enjoy the process and have fun, because it is important to understand that the elements of yin and yang apply to everything in your life, so playfulness and discipline complement each other.
During the 8 days, you will try to go as deep as possible to heal and relax body, mind, and soul.
- Detoxify and revitalize your body, and strengthen your immune system.
- Trust in yourself and open up so that the body remembers how to heal itself.
- Work on your concentration, relaxation, balance, coordination, visualization, movement, and stillness - in a group of like-minded people.
The journey is more important than the destination!
