Program

ASA Algarve Sea Adventures provides this climbing trip for everyone, from first-time climbers to experienced climbers who want to explore the different climbing sectors in the Algarve without the hassle of organizing it themselves and finding the appropriate routes for their experience and skills. First-time climbers need not worry, as the trip starts from the basics, step by step. Whether you prefer to climb on toprope or lead, guides are available to train and support climbers in gaining the knowledge to embark on their own outdoor climbing trips.

Trip protection

The schedule is planned to coincide with the region's best chances for favorable climbing weather. In the rare case that outdoor climbing is not possible, alternative activities such as bouldering at an indoor gym or other excursions may be organized. Fortunately, the Algarve is renowned for its incredible weather, making disruptions unlikely.

Physical requirements

Participants should be capable of climbing YDS 5.6 (UIAA 5) on sight and hiking up to half a mile over varied terrain while carrying a 10-pound backpack. The minimum age for participants is 18 unless prior arrangements are made with the office, and the participant is accompanied by an adult.

  • Check-in from 3:00 PM onwards.
  • At 6:00 PM, meet at the Quinta to register and complete paperwork. This is also a great opportunity to get fitted for climbing gear, including shoes, helmets, harnesses, and belay devices, if needed.
  • If you arrive later, gear can be sorted out the following morning.

Day 3: Climbing (Coastal trip)

Begin with breakfast and prepare lunch to take along. At 9:00 AM, meet and depart in the climbing vans for a day at the coastal crags. Sturdy shoes are recommended for the approach. Climb throughout the day, with skill and informational seminars included.

The climbing trip is around 5-6 hours. Return to Climb Camp to unwind and enjoy the rest of the day at your own pace.

Day 4: Climbing (Coastal trip 2)

Prepare breakfast and pack lunch for the day. At 9:30 AM, head out for a morning of climbing at the cliffs, with sturdy shoes needed for the approach. Return to camp by 2:30 PM.

Day 5: Last chilled or active moments and departure

Enjoy a last lovely breakfast in the sun. Check-out is at 10:00 AM.
