Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel
Welcome to Nepal. You will be greeted by the representative of Ascent Holidays and transferred to the hotel. In the evening, you will get a short briefing about the trip overview. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2: Kathmandu valley sightseeing and Trek Preparation (1,350 m / 4,428 ft)
A wonderful sightseeing day begins after the breakfast. You set out for the sightseeing in the Kathmandu valley, especially the UNESCO listed world heritage sites. Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath Stupa, Boudhanath Stupa and Kathmandu Durbar Square are some of them. They are rich in medieval arts and architectures. Then, back to the hotel and prepare for the trek. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3: Drive to Pokhara by tourist bus (6 hours)
It's about a 6 hours drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara through the Prithvi Highway. The forest above the stream, waterfalls, and the terraced hillside that can be seen are fabulous. Pokhara is a tourist town, beautifully located in the bosom of nature, surrounded by lakes. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Drive to Nayapul and then trek to Tikhedhunga (1,577 m)
Driving to Nayapul from Pokhara, the trek begins through the terraced hillside. It is bound within the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP). A 3-hour trek leads you to Tikhedhunga, passing the paddy fields and enjoying the scenery of the Bhurungdi Khola. Overnight at lodge.
Day 5: Trek to Ghorepani (2,750 m) (5-6 hours)
The trek begins by ascending the steep uphill trail for about a couple of hours to Ulleri. Then it goes through the rhododendron forest. After having lunch at Banthanti, the trail leads gradually to Ghorepani, a Magar dominated village,which is located at the middle of the rhododendron forest. Overnight at lodge.
Day 6: Climb to Poon Hill (3,200 m) and trek to Tadapani
Wake up to catch the early morning sunrise view over the snow capped Himalayas. It’s extremely breathtaking and the views of Annapurna, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, Fishtail and the surrounding strike you. Hiking down to Ghorepani, have a breakfast and trek further to Tadapani Via Deurali and a lunch place at Banthanti. Overnight at lodge.
Day 7: Tadapani to Chhomrung (2,140 m) (5 hours)
The trail is steep downhill from Tadapani, which leads you through the rhododendron forest. Crossing the stream, you climb to the next green hill ridge. Chhomrung is located on the wonderful terraced hillside, which is a large Gurung village. Overnight at lodge.
Day 8: Chhomrung to Dovan (2,900 m) (5 hours)
Following the river bank and with a continual up and down, you trek further to Himalaya from Chhomrung. On the way, you cross the landslide area and the rhododendron forest. The stone paved trail is easy to deal with but tiresome. You reach to the juncture of two streams, which is called Dovan and you take a rest. Overnight at lodge.
Day 9: Dovan to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3 hours)
This is a beautiful day on the Annapurna base camp trek. It begins from Dovan, a place where two streams meet. The trail is undulatingand reaches to Machhapuchhre base camp. You stay here to catch the outstanding views of the Himalayas on the following day. Overnight at lodge.
Day 10: Trek to Annnapurna Base Camp (5 hours)
The spectacular views of the Annapurna chain can be seen perfectly. Then, trek to the Annapurna base camp, which is located at 4130 meters altitude, and is in the shape of a natural amphitheater. The Himalayan white peaks can be observed stunningly. Overnight at lodge.
Day 11: Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (2,345 m) (6 hours)
The early morning sunrise view over the golden peaks seen are marvelous. Mt. Annapurna, Fishtail and the neighbouring peaks can be explored from the base camp. Then you trek down passing through the Fishtail base camp and through the downhill trail, you reach to Bamboo. Overnight at lodge.
Day 12: Bamboo to Jhinu Hot Spring (1,780 m) (5 hours)
It’s a continual climb down from Bamboo to Jhunu, including a few uphill sections. Jhinu Danda is the place you stay tonight, but Jhinu hot spring lies about 25 minutes walk downhill on the other side of the main trail. Natural hot spring is regarded as the best cure for various skin diseases. Overnight at lodge.
Day 13: Jhinu Danda to Nayapul (5 hours), and drive back to Pokhara (1 hour)
The trek begins from Jhinu Danda, all the way descending to Nayapul. You need to check out from the Annapurna conservation area project check point. Then, drive to Pokhara for an hour. Checking in the hotel, walk around the Lake side. Overnight at hotel.
Day 14: Pokhara to Kathmandu
From Pokhara, take a drive by the tourist bus through the Prithvi Highway. After 6 hrs, you reach to Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel. Take a rest and walk around the tourist street. Overnight at hotel.
Day 15: Farewell
The airport representative drops you at the international airport. Thank you for trekking Ascent Holidays. Hope to serve you again.
