"Exactly what I needed "

Very peaceful and calming facility located close to the main streets in Ubud, yet so quiet and relaxing. Waking up with the sounds of birds every day and peaceful energy of my yoga instructor Victor, were exactly what I needed from this retreat

"September Weekend in Bali"

The facility was great and tucked away from the main road. The room was clean and neat and was cleaned every day. I was given tea and coffee the first day but was not refilled so I had to ask for more but it was quickly brought. The yoga shala was large and very nice. The waterfall tour was AMAZING! I think I got lucky and had a great driver who did everything with me and was able to take pics for me. He helped med bypass most of the lines and go to other spots as well. It was gorgeous and so much fun. Everything was timely and drivers were on time. I was close to a lot of things and it was easy to walk everywhere, or rent a bike if I wanted. Would definitely go back!

"Great private yoga retreat"

Astawa house is a beautiful little place with lovely cabins perfect for a solo or couples getaway very close to Ubud centre. It’s a great yoga retreat for those seeking smaller, more intimate classes with great instruction to get the most out of your yoga practice. The waterfalls day was wonderful just be prepared for lots of steps and be sure to pack both walking shoes and sandals you don’t mind getting wet as you have to walk through some water (with rock bottom) to get to some waterfalls. If you’re after a quiet accomodation, an adventurous full day and some very relaxing and focused yoga and meditation, astawa house and their yoga retreat deal is amazing value.

"Disappointing for the price "

The waterfall day trip was nice but you could arrange same thing for much cheaper. All the waterfalls were too busy with other tourists.

"Marginal for cost and accommodation "

The waterfall trip was AMAZING! I met 2 other solo travelers and they made the trip so much better. I loved the experience and it was super special. Victor the yoga instructor was great. He broke down the yoga poses in our first session and no one has ever done that before. It was definitely for beginners and I was so out of practice that it was really good for me.

"Beautiful location, interesting yoga experience.."

The place was beautiful, quiet at night, comfortable bed and got shower. Very close to town which was nice to get what you needed and far enough you could have quiet.

The waterfall trip was AMAZING! Made was the best part of my trip and really went beyond for me being a solo traveler, great part of my experience in Ubud :)

"Clean up your karma??"

The accommodation was lovely. Surrounded but luscious greenery in my own perfect little bungalow. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was okay.

As soon as we arrived in Bali we started this retreat and it was the very first approach to the Balinese culture, and everything made a good impression. It was also our first real yoga class and as beginners we left the retreat not so enthusiastic to continue the practice afterwards. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We also had a tour of the 5 waterfalls the second day and that was an amazing experience.

"A humble, relaxing time"

I came to the retreat newish to yoga and victor went at a slow guided pace for me. He was so warm and humble, so learning the poses didn’t seem impossible. I enjoyed my stay, the structure of the retreat and he’s briefing on yoga, meditation and just lifestyle training your mind over life stressors more then the actually physical part of yoga and meditation. Victor was so easy to be around, id go back for sure and tell my friends that are planning a bali trip, for some healing. 10 stars :)

"Ein Traum abseits der Hauptstraßen"

Ich hatte eine großartige Zeit im Astawahaus. Mein Yogalehrer war Viktor und die 3 Tage haben mir unheimlich gut gefallen. Die ersten zwei Tage war ich komplett alleine, ein Luxus. Es wurde sich um alle meine Wünsche gekümmert. Und wer neugierig ist, kann dem nebenanliegendem Liyershouse einen Besuch abstatten.

"Not as good as expected "

"Thank you, guys!"

I really liked the atmosphere of Astava. Yoga classes, were selected specifically for my features and goals. Special thanks to yoga instructor Viktor for an individual approach, professionalism and an amazing sense of harmony. Evening meditation after foot massage is what became the cherry on the cake after an exciting river rafting in the wild jungle. I was lucky to visit the home of the legendary Ketut from the movie "Eat. Love. Pray" with Julia Robbins, which is literally in the next house from the hotel.

For breakfast, there is a choice of either eggs with toast, or pancakes served with sliced fruit. I asked to have breakfast on the terrace of my bungalow overlooking the garden. I was able to independently explore the center of Ubud, select souvenirs and gifts.

Next time I want to return to Astava Retreat for the program "5 Waterfalls". Thanks guys!

"Spectacular experience in Jungles"

Everything has been amazing! Atmosphere of innocent nature, sounds of jungles and river stream combined with fantastic mind and body relaxation during this retreat. The rafting trip was great! Teacher has been incredibly supportive and gave me much more than I’ve expected. I like that location close to historical centre of Ubud so I walked a lot and at the same time it's very quaiet retreat. So grateful that I’ve been there! Great vibes all over

"Friendly staff, program seemed unfocused "

Nice staff and beautiful complex. Foot massages were heavenly and rafting trip was much better than expected—definitely recommend that portion.

"Very good value "

The yoga was amazing and the instructor was resourceful, helpful and very calming all at the same time

The rafting was great value. Not very extreme but the scenery is stunning!

The location is gorgeous and the staff were very friendly.

I tried a yoga retreat in India that went terribly wrong, so this was really refreshing! Thank you Victor, the staff of Astawa and whoever was the organiser!
