The villa boasts the best of Spanish architecture, white-washed walls, and stunning wooden beams; the building frames a beautiful internal courtyard flushed with flowers and palm trees. The kitchen and lounge are the heart of the retreat, their warmth and appeal boosted by a wood-burning fire and stunning views of the ocean and surrounding countryside.

This beautiful retreat is a blissful oasis, each room has been built and decorated with love. Azulfit Surya Retreat features a wide selection of private en-suite rooms, shared en-suite room options, a beautiful Canarian style internal courtyard and dining area alfresco lounge with sofas for reading and relaxing, a stunning pool and jacuzzi with deluxe sun loungers, and areas to relax in the gardens and around the retreat and of course, Wi-Fi access free of charge.
Surya retreat has seven rooms with double beds, four single private rooms, and six twin rooms available, all of which are designed with your rest and comfort in mind. Leave your bags at the door, they'll take care of the rest.

Is there a pool or Jacuzzi at the retreat?
Azulfit offers a beautiful pool at the retreat, to relax in and take a dip to cool down. The pool is not a full-length lap pool but you can enjoy doing laps in the pool. The ocean is beautiful and warm enough to swim for most of the year. They have sun loungers and offer inclusive pool / beach towels for your retreat week. They also have a six-seat deluxe Jacuzzi at Surya Retreat.
What kind of yoga and Pilates equipment does Azulfit provide?
Azulfit supplies yoga mats, yoga blankets, bolsters, blocks and bricks, magic circles, and yoga straps, as well as any additional equipment needed for the specific session. They also have Reformer/Tower units for Pilates privates.
Are there laundry services at the Surya Retreat?
Please contact Carola (the lovely cleaner) or a staff member if you need to have some washing done. Clothing delivered on Monday morning will be returned washed and folded on Wednesday and if delivered on Wednesday, it will be returned on Friday. The price for this service is 5 to 10 EUR depending on the number of items.
Is there internet access?
Azulfit tries to create a mellow environment away from the stresses of a busy life, however, they do appreciate that some guests would like to access the internet during their stay. Wi-Fi is available on site in all common areas, free of charge.
Program
Daily group Pilates class
This allows you to bond and socialize with other guests whilst still enjoying the amazing tuition from the incredible Pilates instructors. Group classes are mat based with additional props, such as circles, balls, and bands.
2 Pilates reformer sessions (1 private and 1 duet)
These additional Pilates machine sessions give you plenty of personal attention to elevate your practice whilst ensuring safe and detailed guidance using the Pilates reformers, towers, or Pilates Wunda chairs. These sessions can be booked to coordinate with your schedule (subject to teachers availability) and will act as the perfect compliment to your Pilates mat classes.
Additional equipment sessions, with the incredible instructors, can also be booked (subject to teachers availability) at an additional price for those looking to supplement their package further.
Access to all yoga classes
Although Pilates is your focus, perhaps you also enjoy the yoga or meditation aspect of the retreat or wish to experience yoga with the warm and knowledgeable teachers. Having this as an option can provide an additional challenge to your program or bring a new option to your movement experience.

Jo Dombernowsky
Jo is a Pilates instructor and nutrition advisor. She is a Stott Pilates MAT-plus instructor (matwork, fitness-circle, flexband, arc-barrel), nutritionist and dietician - Dietetica y nutricin ISMET -Instituto Superior de Medicinas Tradicionales, Barcelona and the Author of Truly Healthy, Truly Delicious. Jo is also an advanced practitioner and inspiring instructor of Stott Pilates. Her classes focus strongly on understanding correct form, body awareness and body synergy, giving students the understanding and skill to progress in their pilates safely and quickly.

Can Azulfit accommodate special dietary requirements?
Azulfit can accommodate special dietary requirements, including gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan/vegetarian diets. They are a bustling, love-filled retreat kitchen so they cannot accommodate all allergies or preferences but they will work with you to the best of their ability. Please indicate allergies upon booking so they can correspond with you directly about them.
Please read the allergen policy for further details. It is important for them to know if your allergy is Grade I, II, or III before booking so please do reach out to them beforehand so they can ensure they can speak with the kitchens in case of a severe allergic reaction.
After your morning session, you will sit down to a delicious homemade breakfast including fresh fruits, homemade bread and marmalades, yogurt, muesli, and granola, plus a savory dish of the day. They'll also offer an abundant choice of drinks including water, tea, and coffee, and make a fresh herbal tea of the day.
After breakfast, you can also select your lunch dishes from a selection of salads, dips, and grains; offered as a take away packed lunch box for your convenience. Consistent with their overall vibrant retreat philosophy, healthful food that you will be inspired to make when you get back home.
Azulfit also shares a "pay it forward" charity meal on a Monday evening, an opportunity for the team and guests to support one of their partner charities in a simple way, offering a donation for this light, wholesome meal. All meals are vegetarian with vegan and gluten-free options. Specific dietary requirements can be catered for with advanced notice.
On a Wednesday evening, when no evening meal is provided, you are free to enjoy the nearby award-winning tapas and seafood restaurants. There are also self-catering facilities in some of the villa apartments should you prefer to prepare something for yourself.
They also offer a nutrition workshop where guests can join nutrition talks. Jo Dombernowsky, the head nutritionist and international cookbook author, shares her passion and knowledge for all things healthy, nutritious, and delicious and invites you to learn healthy tips and recipes from the Azulfit menu, to take a little of the week in paradise home.

Driving directions from Fuerteventura airport
Before you leave the airport please text or call Azulfit to inform them you are on your way. They can let the team know what time to expect you at the retreat so that someone can be there to meet you. This is especially important for evening flights.
- On leaving the airport take the Corralejo exit off the roundabout which filters into the dual carriageway going north
- Take the 2nd exit signposted Antigua, La Oliva, Corralejo, this road circles sharp left under the dual carriageway
- Continue on this road
- Take the 2nd exit on the right marked La Oliva
- Go around the roundabout taking the 3rd exit for La Oliva (FV-10)
- Stay on this road, passing through Tindaya until you reach La Oliva, you will see a church on the right-hand side
- Continue along passing a small post office (Correos) on the right hand side
- You will come to the end of La Oliva, continue on this road
- Next, you will see Casa Vieja Hotel and Restaurant on your left-hand side and Hiperdino Supermarket on your right-hand side. You will then see the sign for Villaverde on the right-hand side
- Continue until you reach Per Sonare (bar and restaurant) on your right-hand side
- Take your next left onto Calle Los Altos. This is not a very visible turn, so be aware of that. The speed limit is 50 within the village so you should be going slow enough to see the road
- Take the 3rd right on Calle Virgen del Pino. This turns into Calle la Tabaiba
- Make a left into the gate, you will see a large blue flag with Azulfit's logo, Azulfit, 100 Calle Tabaiba
- You have arrived, welcome!
Arrival by airplane
You can book your flight to come directly to Fuerteventura Airport (FUE), based in Puerto del Rosario). For a wider choice of flights, you can fly to Lanzarote Arrecife airport (ACE) and take the 20-minute ferry crossing to Fuerteventura. The last ferry crossing to Corralejo from Playa Blanca, Lanzarote is at 19:00 so please make sure your flight arrives by 16:00 if traveling with luggage.
Fuerteventura airport is 35 minutes from the Surya Retreat. Azulfit recommends that you allow them to organize a transfer for you. This will ensure that you have no waiting around at the airport and that your driver knows exactly where you are going, allowing you to get to Surya Retreat and settle in as smoothly and stress-free as possible. The cost is as follows:
- 1 guest - 40 EUR
- 2 guests - 20 EUR per person
- 3 guests or more - 15 EUR per person
Azulfit always tries to arrange shared transfers for guests arriving at similar times to keep your costs down. Coming by public transport is not recommended as you will need to take three buses to get to the Surya Retreat (bus number 3 to Puerto del Rosario, changing to the number 6 to Corralejo then the number 8 to Villaverde).
