    Day one

Your first day cycling will take you through the wonderful city of Oxford. Sharing with you the extensive history and some secret sights, we will explore the historic city, visit the University buildings, and marvel at the views of the dreaming spires. We leave the city along one of the tranquil waterways and ride through some of the villages outside of the city, some dating back to Saxon times.

A hearty cyclist's lunch can be enjoyed at one of the fantastic country Inns along the way.

Your day will close as you enter the Cotswolds, and the evening will be enjoyed in a town quite often referred to as one of England's prettiest medieval towns: Burford.

Awake to the beauty of the Cotswolds, and as we cycle further into this area of outstanding natural beauty, the famous stone-walled architecture will take you back in time. We will ride through beautifully preserved and maintained villages as we head towards the town of Northleach, which was first established as early as the 1st century. It is here that we will stop for lunch in this celebrated market town.

After a delightful lunch, we head out along the calm country roads towards Chedworth 4th-century Roman Villa. With its fine mosaics, bathing pools, and temples, it is one of the largest Roman remains in Britain. Your day will come to a close as we follow the river towards the tantalising village of Bibury.

After lunch in Cirencester, we slip out of the bustle of this lively town through off-road bridleways before entering peaceful and secluded countryside, allowing plenty of time to reflect on the past ancestors of this country. With only the interruptions of the local wildlife, we experience the customary agricultural side of the Cotswolds and finish the day in the Anglo-Saxon era market town of Tetbury.

Never veering far from the historic Roman road, The Fosse Way forms the boundary between these counties. In the afternoon, you will discover some of the rarely visited hidden gems of the area, easily accessible by bicycle. Later on, you will head towards the peaceful town of Corsham, which, with its Court House and free-roaming peacocks, offers a memorable experience.

Here, you can visit the local stores for picnic supplies and head up to enjoy them on Broughton Common, or you can stop at the conveniently located inn for a traditional English tavern lunch.

In the afternoon, you will continue through the tranquil countryside towards the fantastic town of Bradford-upon-Avon. Famed for its fascinating, quirky shops, a refreshment stop here is worthwhile.
