Regular therapy often only focuses on the rational mind and for many women, this is not enough to make a meaningful shift in the way they think and feel.
The holistic therapy program is a sustainable program to make a long-term shift in your life. During your stay at Be Kind you will find the roots of your struggles, fears, anger, and unhealthy patterns inside yourself. You are your own best healer.
Healing and doing the inner work is a daily event. You can’t go somewhere to be healed, someone else can’t heal you. You need to heal yourself. In this program, they guide you in creating practical tools to start your own healing work so that you will be able to continue your journey once back in your own home. They do believe sometimes we need to leave our comfort zone, step into the unknown and have a fresh and new perspective on life. Holistic psychology believes in the power of choice.
There are a lot of things out of our control, but also a lot of things within our control. Choice makes enables healing. Holistic tools are practical and easy to access
All the tools you will gain during this program are tools for your life. These tools are the toolbox you have with you for the rest of your life. A lot of people are afraid of change, that’s because our subconscious mind always wants us to be ‘safe’ and change is not safe for the subconscious.
Taking responsibility for your own mental health can be challenging, but it is very empowering and gives you enormous self-power. Collectively there is a big shift going on. People are seeking new and different ways of healing and a different approach to mental health. Be Kind doesn't believe in the old model, but they believe in the new one that we are creating collectively together. There are many scientific studies based on this new model.
Be Kind believes in a new perspective on trauma. They believe in this new definition of trauma from Neuroscientist Robert Scaer: every negative life event that occurred in relative helplessness. It is not so black and white what we can identify as trauma. Their experience of trauma is just as valid as the trauma itself.
This mainly happens in our childhood when we were depending on others the most in our lives. Traumas in childhood developed when we betrayed ourselves in order to receive love or when we constantly are treated a certain way. That was leading to feeling unworthy or not accepted, which leads to not being in connection to our authentic selves.
The one-on-one sessions are unique and specially designed to help you in your own healing journey. In these sessions, you will go much deeper into the source of the struggle you experience. With most coaches, therapists or psychologists you will only be analysing your behaviour, but with the coaches, at Be Kind you will not only analyze your behaviour, but also process it on a mindful level. It makes you realise who you are in your core as a person, as a whole being, which further leads you to discover your true purpose in life, rather than focusing on the ‘labels’.
Be Kind does not believe in labels and treating ‘diagnoses’. They do believe they can create mental struggles from childhood traumas, not knowing who we are, depressing emotions, pressure from society, perfectionism, or living in a fear-based society.
The sessions are not just talking with your coach; they are a unique combination of talking ánd expressing yourself in other ways, such as art, movement, meditation, mirror work, journalling, and energy healing. We already spend so much time in our minds, but in order to really heal ourselves, we need to step outside our rational minds, to feel and express our true selves, only then we can connect with our authentic selves.

Awareness is the keyword of the first stage. Be Kind believe that awareness is the first step toward healing, changing, and accepting. To become aware of your struggles, feelings, and patterns we need to disconnect first from your comfortable life and routines. This means in the first stage, a strict regime full of yoga, meditation, and one-on-one coaching. In this first stage, you will unpack, unravel and unlearn. These things are tough, but when you allow yourself to go into this, you will find strength on the other side. This strength will guide you in your further journey.
During the second stage, you will work on different principles, to relinquish old baggage in order to feel light and free. You will connect with energy healing, letting go of practices, and mirror work. You will also visit a Balinese water temple for a cleansing ceremony.
The final stage is all about building the new: the answers within you will come the moment you are at ease with yourself. During this final stage of this program, you will plant seeds for your future. Be Kind will use the holistic approach in this final stage to nurture and nourish your entire being, your body, your mind, and your soul. This is the stage where you will grow and be able to grow you must get out of our comfortable living. It is during these times that we are far from our own element that we experience ourselves the most.

Be Kind will bring you in a real yogi daily schedule, starting every morning and ending every day with yoga and meditation. The 8 am yoga class will make you ready for the rest of the sessions of the day. The 4 pm yoga class will give you the chance to reflect on your day and to stay calm during the night.
A lot of research shows us that daily meditation and yoga sessions are extremely helpful whenever you are struggling with a mental issue. It can be a powerful tool to restore the imbalances in the body, mind, and soul. Yoga has the profound ability to balance emotions and has been shown to help relieve depression, anger, and anxiety. Thia is a teacher trainer who has been guiding students through yoga teacher training and yoga retreats in Bali for almost 15 years. Originally from Jakarta, Indonesia, Thia spends her time surfing, teaching yoga, and leading kirtan on Nusa Lembongan, a small white-sand island off the coast of Bali.
