Be Kind believes in the power of holistic healing. Holistic for you means to look at your ‘whole’ self and not just one part of it. In this program, they will look into every aspect of you: body, mind, and soul–about the whole.

They don’t treat mental illnesses; they treat the reasons for the development of your mental illness, such as trauma responses, coping mechanisms, suppressing emotions, and childhood traumas. Regular therapy often only focuses on the rational mind and for many women, this is not enough to make a meaningful shift in the way they think and feel.

This holistic therapy program is a sustainable program to make a long-term shift in your life. During your stay at Be Kind, you will find the roots of your struggles, fears, anger, and unhealthy patterns inside yourself. The moment you find the roots of your problems, you will be able to make a shift and let go of everything that is too heavy to carry.

  • You are your own best healer

Healing and doing the inner work are daily events. You can’t go somewhere to be healed, someone else can’t heal you. You need to heal yourself.

At this program, they will guide you in creating practical tools to start your healing work so that you will be able to continue your journey once you get back to your own home. They do believe sometimes you need to leave your comfort zone, step into the unknown, and have a fresh and new perspective on life.

  • Holistic psychology believes in the power of choice

There are a lot of things out of your control, but also a lot of things within your control. Choice enables healing.

  • Holistic tools are practical and easy to access

All the tools you will gain during this program are tools for your life. These tools are your toolbox you have with you for the rest of your life. A lot of people are afraid of change, that’s because your subconscious mind always wants you to be ‘safe’ and change is not safe for the subconscious.

  • Taking responsibility

Taking responsibility for your mental health can be challenging, but it is very empowering and gives you enormous self-power. Collectively there is a big shift going on. People are seeking new and different ways of healing and a different approach to mental health. Be Kind doesn’t believe in the old model, but they do believe in the new one that you are creating collectively together. There are many scientific studies based on this new model.

  • A new perspective on trauma

Be Kind believes in a new perspective on trauma. They believe in this new definition of trauma from neuroscientist Robert Scaer: every negative life event that occurred in relative helplessness. It is not so black and white that you can identify as trauma. Your experience of trauma is just as valid as the trauma itself.

This mainly happens in your childhood when you depend on others the most in your lives. Traumas in childhood develop when you betray yourself to receive love or when you constantly are treated in a certain way which leads to feeling unworthy or not accepted, which leads to not being in connection to your authentic self.

Holistic coaching and therapy

The one-on-one sessions are unique and specially designed to help you in your healing journey. In these sessions, you will go much deeper into the source of the struggle you experience. With most coaches, therapists, or psychologists, you will only be analyzing your behavior, but with the coaches at Be Kind, you will not only analyze your behavior but also process it on a mindful level. It makes you realize who you are at your core as a person, as a whole being, which further leads you to discover your true purpose in life, rather than focusing on the ‘labels’.

Be Kind doesn’t believe in labels and treating ‘diagnoses'. They do believe that you can create mental struggles from childhood traumas, not knowing who you are, depressing emotions, pressure from society, perfectionism, or living in a fear-based society.

The sessions are not just talking with your coach; they are a unique combination of talking and expressing yourself in other ways, such as art, movement, meditation, mirror work, journalling, and energy healing. They already spend so much time in your mind, but to heal yourself, you need to step outside your rational mind, to feel and express your true self, only then can you connect with your authentic self.

The background of every Be Kind coach includes studies in psychology and / or yoga, meditation, and energy healing. Every coach had their way of healing from a mental struggle and they will share their own healing story as an inspiration for you to find your path. All Be Kind coaches will provide a safe space for you to open up and create the best path of healing for you.

The setup

Awareness is the keyword of the first stage. Be Kind believes that awareness is the first step into healing, changing, and accepting. To become aware of your struggles, feelings, and patterns, you need to disconnect first from your comfortable life and routines. This means in the first stage, a strict regime full of yoga, meditation, and one-on-one coaching. In this first stage, you will unpack, unravel and unlearn. These things are tough, but when you allow yourself to go into this, you will find strength on the other side. This strength will guide you into your further journey.

During the second stage, you will work on different principles, to relinquish old baggage to feel light and free. You will connect with energy healing, letting go practices, and mirror work. You will also visit a Balinese water temple for a cleansing ceremony.

The final stage is all about building the new: the answers within you will come the moment you are at ease with yourself. During this final stage of the program, you will plant seeds for your future. Be Kind will use the holistic approach in this final stage to nurture and nourish your entire being, your body, your mind, and your soul. This is the stage where you will grow and to be able to grow, you must get out of your comfortable living. It is during these times that you are far from your element that you experience yourself the most.

Your 1:1 sessions

The one-on-one sessions are unique and specially designed to help you in your healing journey. In these sessions, you will go much deeper into the source of the struggle you experience. Yoga and meditation

Be Kind will bring you a real yogi daily schedule, starting every morning and ending every day with yoga and meditation. The 08:00 yoga class will make you ready for the rest of the sessions of the day. The 16:00 yoga class will give you the chance to reflect on your day and to stay calm during the night.

A lot of research shows that daily meditation and yoga sessions are extremely helpful whenever you are struggling with a mental issue. It can be a powerful tool to restore the imbalances in the body, mind, and soul. Yoga has the profound ability to balance emotions and has been shown to help relieve depression, anger, and anxiety. Another positive aspect of yoga is the fact that it promotes self-esteem and a positive body image, which plays an important role in eating disorders.

The most important aspect of healing from a mental issue is the individual's acceptance that there is a struggle and the desire to make a change. The first stage yoga and meditation will help you become aware of this.
