Day 1: Arrival / Hotel check in
Big Bike Touring Co understands the fatigue of travel, so they have included an extra night’s stay for you to unwind and rejuvenate before embarking on your epic motorcycle tour. Relax, take in the ambiance, and prepare yourself for the thrilling days ahead. Get ready to kick-start your adventure.
They will pick you up from your hotel at 7:30 a.m. the morning of your tour, bring to the HG have big hearty breakfast at Route 66 Bikers Cafe, complete paperwork, safety briefing, bike hand over, hit the road.
Day 2: Chiang Mai - Mae Taeng - Pai (158 kilometers / 98 miles)
Start your motorcycle adventure in Chiang Mai’s vibrant streets before ascending to the cloud-kissed Doi Suthep-Pui National Park, where the golden spires of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep shimmer against the mountain backdrop. Wind through verdant forests to authentic Karen and Lisu villages, where generations of traditions remain untouched by time.
At Mae Taeng Elephant Camp, interact with Thailand’s gentle giants in their natural setting. The day’s journey culminates in Pai, a bohemian paradise nestled among rolling hills, where artistic energy meets laid-back charm after a day of conquering thrilling mountain hairpins.
Day 3: Pai - Mae Hong Son (148 kilometers / 92 miles)
Glide from Pai’s artistic enclave into a landscape of undulating mountains shrouded in morning mist. The route to Mae Hong Son delivers pure riding ecstasy — countless curves cutting through dense jungle and revealing sudden, breathtaking valley vistas. Pause at Pai Canyon’s dramatic ridges to capture panoramic photographs before continuing your ascent. Arrive in Mae Hong Son, a tranquil town embraced by mountains where Shan culture thrives. As the sun sets, climb to Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu’s whitewashed stupas for a golden-hour panorama of the mist-filled valley below — a perfect reward for the day’s exhilarating ride.
Day 4: Mae Hong Son to Mae Sariang (225 kilometers / 139 miles)
Embark on the southern leg of the legendary loop as morning light filters through mountain passes. Explore the ancient Lod Cave, where a bamboo raft carries you through limestone chambers adorned with stalactites and prehistoric paintings. The road unfurls like a ribbon through emerald highlands before revealing the thundering Mae Surin Waterfall cascading 100 meters down jagged cliffs. Navigate remote mountain villages where hill tribes preserve ancestral ways amid terraced fields. Descend into Mae Sariang as the afternoon softens, a riverside haven where teakwood houses line quiet streets and the Yuam River reflects the setting sun — the perfect backdrop to reminisce about the day’s adventures.
Day 5: Mae Sariang - Doi Inthanon - Chiang Mai (197 kilometers / 122 miles)
Complete your epic journey with the most dramatic day of riding—from Mae Sariang’s peaceful riverside to Thailand’s highest point. Ascend the mighty Doi Inthanon through ever-changing ecosystems, from tropical forests to cloud-wrapped alpine zones. Marvel at the ornate twin Royal Pagodas piercing the clouds and standing sentinel over cascading gardens. Photograph the thundering Wachirathan and Vachiratharn waterfalls, their mist creating rainbows against lush vegetation. Visit a Karen Long Neck village to understand the complex beauty of their brass coil traditions before descending through golden rice terraces toward Chiang Mai.
As you complete the legendary 1864 curves, celebrate your achievement with fellow riders at a farewell dinner, sharing stories of northern Thailand’s magnificent landscapes and the unparalleled freedom of conquering the Mae Hong Son Loop.

Notes
- You must have obtained your own country’s international driving license before your tour begins.
- The customer is responsible for checking the motorcycle and all accessories for any damage before leaving the location.
- When riding, please follow the tour guide for safety and time keeping. Big Bike Touring Co operates a lead and last policy, so each rider will take turns to be the ‘sweeper’ bike at the rear of the pack and notify the lead guide bike of any problems/issues.
- It’s the customer’s responsibility to bring the motorcycle and all accessories back to the location in the same condition as when your tour started.
- If any damage has been done to the motorcycle and any accessories the customer agrees to pay in full the said damage at 100% estimated cost.
Security deposit
- Kawasaki, Honda, or Suzuki brand: 1,000 USD
- BMW (F800, 850GS, R1200GSA, R1250GS): 2,000 USD
- 40 USD per day to cover the bike damages up to 3,000 USD. If the damages are over 3,000 USD, it will be the customer’s responsibility.

By booking this tour, you acknowledge that you’re a competent and fully licensed motorcycle rider. Should the tour guide deem that you do not have the prerequisite skill set or you’re riding in an unsafe manner that presents a danger to yourself or other road users, you acknowledge the company reserves the right to stop the tour with immediate effect without providing a refund of the same, any motorcycle insurance you have purchased with us will become NULL and VOID.
