Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
Welcome to Tanzania! As you touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), get ready for the start of an exciting cycling adventure. After a bit of relaxation, you will gather in the late afternoon to kick off your journey with a friendly meet-and-greet, do a bike fitting, and share some recommendations, safety tips, and outline all the details in the itinerary about your upcoming tour. Dinner is on you tonight, and if you arrive super early, they will help you fill your time exploring Tanzania before the get-together.

Day 2: Transfer to West Kilimanjaro
- Distance: 34 kilometers / 21 miles
Rise and shine! After a delicious breakfast, they will transport you to Simba Farm on West Kilimanjaro, your starting point. Simba farm is situated on top of the vast wheat and barley fields overlooking the west Kilimanjaro plains. Originally Simba Estate, it was built in the early 1900s and is now a working farm set on 7,000 acres, with elevated and stunning views across the Maasai Lands.
Your ride today covers 34 kilometers going towards TingaTinga village which is the settlement of Maasai known as “bomas” scattered around TingaTinga. The Maasai in TingaTinga continues to live traditionally, dressed in colorful blankets and celebrating their traditional ceremonies. They are not as used to seeing tourists more common in other areas visited by visitors.
You will take the first four kilometers on the smooth tarmac to Ngarenairobi town, then pass through Mawasiliano gravel roads, keeping your eyes peeled because these lands support a remarkable variety of wildlife like (antelope, elephant giraffes zebras, etc.) as you reach your overnight stop to Olpopongi Maasai Lodge. Here, you will learn about Maasai traditions and customs walking nearby villages. At the end of the evening, you will have time to enjoy a delicious dinner and story at Born Fire before going to sleep. Get ready for your next day to Sanya Juu.

Day 3: TingaTinga Masai village - Sanya juu
- Distance: 40 kilometers / 25 miles
As the sun rises, you set off through Maasai grazing plains, meet the local Maasai people on the way, and enjoy the exciting view of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru on clear skies, passing Ngasurai open plains - which serve as a wildlife corridor for wild animals moving from Amboseli National Park and Arusha National Park.
Your ride takes you through the Ngabobo Maasai market. If you wish to stop taking some pictures, they will make a stop at a nearby market and you can walk around to see business activities. Today’s lunch will be served halfway with a great view of the African savannah landscape. Your ride concludes at the House of West Kili Lodge in Sanya Juu, your comfy home for the night.

Day 4: Sanya Juu - Kikuletwa hotspring
- Distance: 28 kilometers / 18 miles
Today’s ride is a visual treat. Pedal through picturesque farmlands with stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Shira Plateau on clear skies. After your first 12 kilometers on smooth tarmac and 16 kilometers on dirt roads, you will reach the highlight of the day - Chemka Hotspring. Chemka Hotspring is a natural underground pool fed by the sources of Mount Kilimanjaro. Locally called Chemka, meaning boiling, referring to the way the water appears to boil as it emerges from underground.
In fact, the water is not hot rather it is a pleasant temperature. Upon arrival at Chemka Hotspring take a brief stroll around the pool getting ready for a refreshing swim and playful rope swings into the pools. Do not miss the chance to indulge in a fish massage - nature’s spa treatment. Take time to unwind, reflect on the day, and plan your next Tanzanian adventure.
After the swim, you will be served a delightful lunch and drinks before being transferred back to your accommodation in Moshi, wrapping up your fantastic three-day bike tour in Tanzania.
