Reach the top of the world in the challenging roads of the great Himalayas. Dare to take on this tour and let the thrill surge through you in a journey unlike any other. Riding in Ladakh, it is good to keep in mind that you are on the highest motorable road on this planet, one that affords some breathtaking views of the "roof of the world." The inaccessibility of the higher reaches of the region is what makes it so attractive. Experience a true adventure as you go camping through the lovely Nubra Valley and travel through the hidden paradise of North India.
During this tour, you will be staying at various accommodations across India in hotels or camps. Rooms will be available on a twin-sharing basis. You may also avail a single supplement.
Meet and greet by a tour representative at Delhi airport followed by transfer to your hotel.
Morning transfer to Delhi Airport to board the flight for Leh. On arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel. Day free for acclimatization. Evening briefing about the trip. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, you will be taken for a full-day test ride and also familiar with the motorcycle for your adventure trip. You will visit Shey, Thiksey, and Hemis Monasteries. After the visit, drive back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast you will start driving from Leh to Nubra Valley passing by the world's highest motorable pass Khardung La (5,602 m). After a photo stop at Khardung La, ride downhill towards Nubra Valley (the land of Mongolian camels). Upon arrival, check in at the camp. Post refreshment proceed to the desert, where you can experience the double-humped (Mongolian) camel ride or spend quality time in the heart of the cold desert.
After breakfast proceed to visit Pangong Lake, en route visit the biggest statue of Buddha at Diskit (Hunder Valley). Today’s ride will be challenging but with a panoramic view of the Himalayan high mountains, via a stopover at the bank of Shyok River for photography, afternoon reach Pangong camp-site. Post refreshment, you will be free to ride/roam around the world-famous Pangong Lake located at an altitude of 14,300 ft from sea level, sharing the borders of two countries India and China.
Drive to Tsokar Lake. It's a panoramic journey on a path that's virtually a ‘no mans’ land. Brobdingnagian lonely stretches on the Chanthang upland makes this drive one in all the most effective isolated drives of this tour. Enroute visit the faraway settlement of Chusul. The route down to Puga Sumdo and then across the Polokongka Pass (4920 meters). On the way, you can see the Tsokar Lake. On arrival, check-in into the mud house. Evening free at leisure to relax and personal activities. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
The seventh day comes with a lot of fun with more plains and getting into the mountain range horizon. While you are on this route, you will see the bigger mountains on this part of the highway. Lachalung - the first giant above 5,000 m (5,065 m) and you will climb over another two high mountain passes Naki La (4,877 m). Then continue your ride to Sarchu which is the border line of two states Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. At Sarchu you stop for tea and continue to ride to Jispa. On arrival, check into the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
It's a long day on the off-road trail via Shingu La and continue your descent crossing Purne. You will enjoy the lunch at Purne. Continue your ride to Padum. Enjoy a warm stay at a hotel.
After an early breakfast you will set off for another off-road adventurous ride towards Lamayuru, crossing the beautiful Zanskar valley and enjoying the panoramic view of the rugged Zanskar mountain. En route, you will stop for a lunch break at a local dhaba (food stall). Continue the ride to Lamayuru, and check in to the hotel.
Before you set out for the sights of Lamayuru, you will be amazed to know the spellbinding fact that the unique landscaping of Lamayuru is quite similar to the moon's surface. Thus Lamayuru is also known as “Moonland or Moonscape”. En route stop at Magnetic Hill and Gurudwara Patthar Sahib and the confluence of Indus and Zanskar Rivers, before reaching the capital of Ladakh which is Leh (3,500 m).
