UK Wellness and Healing Breathwork Retreat

A personal breathwork retreat in Scotland allows you the opportunity to engage in a process of deep healing and spiritual inquiry over the course of four days. By itself, breathwork is a powerful agent for change, however, when you combine the effects of breathwork with time out from your day-to-day schedule and the healing environment of woodland, mountains, and rivers the results can be profound. This retreat is held by John Paul in his home village in the foothills of the Highlands of Scotland.

Accommodation

Facilities

  • Dining area
  • Kitchen

Your accommodation is bed and breakfast located in a wonderful stone-built cottage in the center of the beautiful picturesque village of Comrie in Highland Perthshire. Your host Stephanie will give you a warm welcome, a hearty vegetarian breakfast, and a quiet place to relax in between sessions during your personal retreat.

Program

During your personal breathwork retreat, you can benefit from two breathwork sessions each day, with support to help you navigate and integrate the changes that occur. Breathing Journeys organizes local accommodation for you to suit your preferences and after the sessions, you are free to enjoy the delights of the surrounding area.

There are numerous walks and trails you can explore, cafes to journal in, and plenty of space and time to integrate the sessions. Evenings and mealtimes would be free for you to spend as you wish. This way of working has proven to be very beneficial to previous clients who have achieved remarkable results through this format. Each breathwork session will last two hours.

About rebirthing breathwork

The form of breathwork they teach uses conscious connected breathing - a simple, accessible but profoundly effective process you can learn for your own for healing and personal awakening. This way of breathing comes from the original rebirthing tradition as taught by Leonard Orr but there are now many breathwork schools around the world that use the same process, each with their own particular approach.

The practice itself is very straightforward but is normally done initially with a trained facilitator to guide you through the process until you have enough experience to self-facilitate. It can be adopted as a practice you can use throughout the day, or as a way of journeying deep into your own psyche through longer sessions. Longer breathwork sessions last for anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour or more and are normally done sitting or lying down. You are then able to enter a state of deep relaxation where you can journey with the breath.

During a breathing journey, you may experience a range of thoughts, feelings, and sensations that lead to some aspect of your experience has shifted. The positive change that is experienced in a breath session is then reflected in your life. As you proceed with the practice, spiritual awareness is gained through repeated experience with the process and the impact it has on your way of understanding and embodying the spiritual life.

Benefits

Breathwork is a safe and highly effective way of moving beyond problems that may have been present for many years. It works at a level where no language is required and clients are often surprised at the results when all they do is lie down and breathe. A commonly reported phenomenon is that your experience of life starts to change for the better, often without any outward effort other than doing the sessions. Every session is unique and will be particular to your own specific needs at that time, however, the following benefits are likely to be observed:

1. Health

Learning breathwork offers a way to detox your system, increase vitality, and gives your whole system a chance to relax. You are literally breathing tension out of your body with every single breath. This gives your body the chance to rest and repair. As you proceed with the practice, you will also naturally over time move to a much healthier state of being where your choices are in tune with what your body needs to get and stay well. Enjoy healthier skin, more energy and freedom from years of tension. Learning conscious connected breathing will enable you to nourish yourself directly from the source of life itself.

2. Mental clarity

Learn a process that will help you clear up faulty thinking, dissolve limiting beliefs, and get insights into your path in life. Experience the connection to your own source of guidance and wisdom and the peace of mind that brings.

3. Emotional wellbeing

Learn how to work through emotional issues such as anxiety, low self-esteem, feeling stuck, lonely, unmotivated, lack of confidence, lack of sleep, depression, fear of intimacy, anger, and sadness. Exchange these for peace, joy, freedom, trust, self-acceptance, self-confidence, connection, courage, compassion, power, gratitude, and love. Learning breathwork gives you a process to work through what is difficult and the power to create a more balanced emotional outlook.

4. Improved relationships

Experience more loving connections to yourself, your partner, family, and others in your life. Learn how to let go of old patterns in relationships and replace them with connections based on greater acceptance and love. Have the confidence to set boundaries, express yourself clearly, and be heard. Breathe to connect deeply to who you are and your life relationship, bringing healing to unresolved unconscious conflicts so you can step fully into life.

5. Discover your passion

Learn how to use the breath to create a life filled with passion for what you do, in service to others and bringing you joy and fulfillment. Align yourself with your deepest intentions for your life, manifesting who you are through all that you do and fulfilling your soul's purpose. Learn how to breathe life into what you want to create and who you want to be.

6. Personal awakening

Experience new states of consciousness as you connect to the divine energy of the breath. Learn how to become more present, grounded, and embodied as your spirit is literally breathed into your body to greater and greater degrees. Play the game of life with greater joy and ease and feel glad to be alive, fully connected to your own divinity. Become a creator and fully step into your spiritual birthright. Continually expand your experience of what it is to be a human being here on earth and use the breath to journey deeper and with greater awareness into your life’s path.

7. Healing trauma and abuse

Your deepest traumas offer the greatest potential to awaken to who you really are. Learn how to transform the impacts of deeply held trauma into opportunities to truly blossom in your life. Without reaching back into the past, breathwork offers a way to resolve experiences such as childhood sexual abuse, emotional or physical abuse, present or past life trauma, and other deeply impactful events from your life, without the need to talk about them. Instead, learn to use them as doorways to your own awakening, fully connected to your own divinity and expressing your truth in all areas of your life.
