Program

What and why?

The Roots teachings use Chinese medical theory to introduce how to nourish your Yin, the organs, essences, blood, and fluids of the body. This head-based knowledge is brought into the body through Restorative yoga practices, which use rest to heal. You will explore Yin as the roots and anchor for the mind, the stabilizing energy of life, and the foundation for your blood production. You will look at how to nourish the substances of the body - Yin, to empower the free-flowing of your energy - Yang.

You will introduce medical Qigong practices to gather and strengthen your energy, rejuvenate your organ systems, and become more grounded in your daily life. From this strong anchored place, you can more naturally listen to our instinctive knowing and find a way of living true to yourselves and others.

Course content

The Roots teachings begin with looking at where you come from, and how to nurture your wellbeing, with an understanding of your baseline constitution. You will learn specific practices from the Medical Qigong system, which have been used for centuries to free-flow body energy and keep people well. The Qigong practices practiced regularly will maintain the rejuvenation and renewal of your energy levels and body-mind harmony.

These more active stimulating energy moving practices are balanced with Restorative yoga practices, a passive restful way to open the meridian flows, and direct the energy deep into the organs and deeper energy pathways. Restorative yoga practices are simple, effective, and easy to teach and share. Each practice is introduced with clear guidelines on the benefits, indications, and contraindications.

This course is structured in seven steps. Each step engages your energy to heal, grow, and transform. The theory of each step is embodied in Qigong and yoga practices. All steps introduce practical knowledge on how you exist as energy beings, and how to engage, vitalize and harmonize the body, mind, spirit, and soul. The Roots course is a self-healing prescription and a pathway back to more natural ways of being. Following these steps can help you rejuvenate and renew your energy, actualize more of your individual potential, and enjoy a more fulfilling life. The seven steps are:

  • 1. Connect to source
  • 2 Gather your power
  • 3. Find your flow
  • 4. Show up
  • 5. Stay grounded
  • 6. Activate potentials
  • 7. Partner the universe
