Ongoing program all year round: 2019, New Transformation, New Year, New You, New Beginning. Accepting new aspiring yoga Students, Practitioners, Teachers. Choose which session fits your schedule at your convenience to begin your journey of exploring deepening your personal practice or your knowledge for aspiring teachers and established yoga teachers. Each 21 days session begins on the first Saturday of each month.

This course takes you to a deeper understanding of yoga, fundamentals, foundations, principles for practice, and ethics and morals of teaching, Anatomy and Physiology, Methodology, Practicum with emphasis, classical Ashtanga Yoga. This is an immersion and intensive study. A minimum of 21 days is required to complete the program, daily morning and evening practice, your time and investment will be immensely priceless.

The course provides extensive materials, knowledge and necessary experiences, skills to develop the qualification, confidence to guide a safe yoga practice for health, wellness, and holistic approach. You will leave fulfilled and content knowing appropriate, safe and effective hands-on training with assists, adjustments, modifications, and variations for all levels of practitioners.

Please note: this is only the first step of a long beautiful journey. Continued practice and continuing yearly education is the only way to keep yourselves grounded, humble, and able to mentor, guide, teach and advocate for others with the ever-constant change of your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual journeys.

This year one course introduces the foundations, principles, practices, disciplines, structures, commitment, devotion, understanding, apprenticeship to the authentic classical yoga practices, including the eight limbs of yoga. Limited space to 8 people to maintain the highest quality of instruction.

Whether you are interested in deepening your personal practice or aspiring to one day share your practice experience and knowledge teaching yoga, this Ashtanga Yoga Wellness Course One is a perfect place to begin your questful journey. As our teacher, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, taught us, transformation within us can only take its shape and form after years of committed practice, dedication to your own yoga and faithfully devoting to the lineage to witness all it has to offer as they come.

This 21 days to experience this journey where it calls your participation and completion of the course as your beginning steps to yoga and yoga way of living that necessarily precedes teaching. Only through your dedicated hours of practice can one understand and convey the teaching of yoga towards others. If you are already teaching yoga, the completion of this course will enrich, inspire, awaken your teaching skills immensely to many new discoveries, inquiries, explorations, and knowledge. This course is a beautiful beginning to apprenticeship in yoga studios or your pre-requirements towards one-day teaching.

Please be aware that this is not a Teacher Training program as in the Ashtanga Yoga lineage of K. Pattabhi Jois, and that the only way to get Authorized or Certified to teach this method is to study consistently with our teachers that honors, respects and teach the practice as passed onto them.

You will begin to research and learn how to approach each posture of the Yoga Chikitsa, Primary Series from its safe, appropriate practice and how to convey through hands-on adjustments and verbal assists. In addition, the study of Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Hatha Yoga Pradipika and the Bhagavad Gita will be explored and discussed.

Mysore practice will take place Monday through Thursday, led guided class will be on Sunday and Friday, and afternoons are designated for technique, fundamentals, and workshops. Saturday is our day off. This course will total 200 plus hours of deeper studies or continuing education for established yoga teachers. Certification of completion can be requested if needed.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Kahului Airport (OGG). Arrive one day before the start date, which is on Sunday. Let Christina Martini Yoga, Maui Shala Santosha know when you are at the airport. From there, take a taxi or rent a car.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 50% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 45 days before arrival.
