The Peruvian Paso horses are worldwide famous for being the best saddle horses as well as for their fascinating gait. The Peruvian Paso Horse’s gait, like a subtle and wonderful play of horse legs which seem to recreate in the air, is its main characteristic. This characteristic has led this breed to be known as “the best saddle horse in the world” since the horseman rides comfortably and smoothly at a speed of nine or ten kilometers per hour allowing a longer travel in which neither the horse nor the rider gets tired. It should be pointed out that other breeds reach this speed in short gallops or fast trot which impact directly on the horseman. The Peruvian Paso horse has a smooth temperament, is dedicated and has a suitable disposition.
Ampascachi has bred the horses that you will be using for the travel; these horses have been selected, tamed and trained at Haras Ampascachi. The taming method used at Haras Ampascachi is based on equestrian ethology and on techniques derived from the learning theory applied to horse training. This results in dynamic and quiet horses who will respond vigorously to the rider’s command.
Saddles used have been specifically designed for horse riding equestrian routes, with anatomical and comfortable saddles for the rider and the purpose of caring for the horseback while keeping the Argentine saddle criollo style. Reins and headstalls are made of the leather sole, similar to those used for horse training practice. Bits are Pelan-type horse bits, with a small leverage for a gentle and agile riding of the horse.
The riding holiday has been designed according to the riders’ experience. At Ampascachi, they evaluate the riders’ skills according to the riding holidays chosen. You may choose the horse you wish to ride, but you should follow tour guide's advice as the horses are Peruvian Paso horses, bred, tamed, and selected in the equestrian centers.
As a rider, you should be physically fit and in good health for the riding holiday chosen to be able to fully enjoy your holiday. A further consideration is your experience in equestrian sports as well as your riding skills for these activities which turn more demanding as speed is increased when riding, as you ride over the rough and variable ground and as ridings get longer.
Food and drinks are included in the holiday. Meals are healthy, balanced, and natural and you will also be able to taste the typical regional Argentine food and seasonal vegetables and fruits. Ampascachi has a varied and nutritious menu in accordance with food requirements for the activity to be pursued. The cuisine says a lot about the place you visit and makes part of your experience where all your senses play around. When you engage in active tourism, such as equestrian tourism, nutritional requirements are an important issue to consider at the time that enjoying the typical cuisine of each region is also paramount. If you have any food requirements, please let Ampascachi know when booking.
