Ayurveda panchakarma
In Ayurveda, health is defined only as a state where the mind rests peacefully and happily with a toxin-free body composed of several organs operating habitually. Your physical and mental balance—Ayurveda comes up with panchakarma, or better can be called Ayurveda panchakarma—is the ultimate and final solution for the regeneration of your body and mind.
"Charaka Samhita" the oldest book in Ayurveda believes in "sodhana" or cleansing of body and mind from varied toxic elements and finds it as the only remedy to acquire a healthy and peaceful life. It has created a great impact in different issues related to indigestion, immune hazards, age, and so on.
Panchakarma is actually a combination of five therapies and depending on your requirement you can opt for any of them or all of them together. Though a relief therapy in general but panchakarma could sometimes usher uneasiness due to discharge of toxins from one's body and mind. In Ayurveda this stage is named as healing shortcomings.
What is panchakarma?
Panchakarma is a word derived from Sanskrit that means 'five actions' in Ayurveda, this word means 'five steps for healing' or 'five treatments'. The panchakarma procedure includes five steps, starting from herbal oil massages, enema cleansing treatment, steam baths, and simple kichadi diet. This treatment helps to throw out all your body toxins and rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul.
Five steps of panchakarma
- Vamana or inducing vomiting to clean stomach
- Verechan to remove fire (pitta)
- Snehan to remove toxins with medicated oil massage
- Swedan is way of intensifying sweating to liquidity toxins
- Nasyam is instillation of herbal oils through the nose to treat ear nose and throat issues
