In this trekking, you will be staying two nights at Green Mountain Hotel and seven nights at different campsites or huts.

Programm
Day 1: Nairobi to Arusha
Travel to Arusha from Nairobi in the morning by a shuttle bus via the Namanga border. For participants arriving at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be picked up and transferred to Arusha. You will spend a night at a hotel.
Day 2: Londorossi Gate - Lemosho Trailhead - Big Tree Camp (Mti Mkubwa) (2650 meters)
- Walking distance: 6 kilometers / 3.7 miles
- Walking time: 2 - 3 three hours
- Altitude gain: 550 meters / 1795 feet
Day 3: Big Tree Camp to Shira I (3480 meters)
- Walking distance: 8 kilometers / 5 miles
- Walking time: 4 - 5 three hours
- Altitude gain: 830 meters / 2725 feet
Day 4: Shira I - Shira Huts (3850 meters) via Shira Cathedral
- Walking distance: 11 kilometers / 6.8 miles
- Walking time: 6 - 8 three hours
- Altitude gain: 370 meters / 1210 feet
Day 5: Shira Huts via Lava Tower (4640 meters / 15220 feet) - Barranco Huts (3985 meters / 13070 feet)
- Walking distance: 9 kilometers / 5.6 miles

- Altitude gain: 135 meters / 440 feet (790 meters / 2590 feet to Lava Tower)
Day 6: Barranco Huts - Karanga Camp (4040 meters / 13255 feet)

- Altitude gain: 55 meters / 185 feet
Day 7: Karanga Camp - Barafu Huts (4680 meters / 15360 feet)

Day 8: Summit attempt via Stella Point to Uhuru Peak and descent to Millenium Camp (or to Mweka Hut)
- Walking distance: 5 kilometers / 3 miles ascent and 10 kilometers / 6.2 miles descent
- Walking time: 5 - 6 three hours with 1 - 2 hours and 5 - 6 hours down (The overall walking time may vary from 10 - 16 hours)
- Altitude gain: 1072 meters / 3511 feet (Stella Point) or 1215 meters / 3980 feet (Uhuru Peak)
- Descent: 2075 meters / 6810 feet
Day 9: Millenium Camp - Lemosho Gate - Arusha
- Walking distance: 20 kilometers / 12.5 miles
- Walking time: 5 hours
- Descent: 1990 meters / 6530 feet
- You will be gathered at the park gate and transferred to the hotel in Arusha.
Day 10 - Departure
After breakfast, depart at your own pleasure for your onward journey.

Mount Kilimanjaro National Park
Above the gently rolling hills and plateaus of northern Tanzania rises the snowy peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. It is located near the town of Moshi and is a protected area, carefully regulated for climbers to enjoy without leaving a trace of their presence. The mountain’s ecosystems are as strikingly beautiful as they are varied and diverse. On the lowland slopes, much of the mountain is farmland, with coffee, banana, cassava, and maize crops grown for subsistence and sale.
A few larger coffee farms still exist on the lower slopes, but much of the area outside the national park has been subdivided into small plots. Inside the park, thick lowland forest covers the lower altitudes and breaks into alpine meadows once the air begins to thin. Near the peak, the landscape is harsh and barren; with rocks and ice the predominant features above a breathtaking African view.
Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa. It stands an impressive 19.341 feet tall over the Tanzanian plains. Mount Kilimanjaro is also the tallest freestanding mountain in the world, meaning it is not part of a mountain range.
