Phitsanulok is one of the oldest cities in Thailand. There are many religious and sacred sites to visit as well as ancient ruins, museums, and national parks. Besides that you can visit the one of the local swimming pools, have a spa treatment, or go out for food and drinks for instance. Phitsanulok has its own airport, so this makes a quick journey (1 hour) if you choose to fly here from Bangkok. Several flights leave each day, and if you book in time this journey cost you under 700 THB (extra for check-in luggage). Another (less recommended) option is flying to Sukhothai airport. They will pick you up from either airport for free!
Go to Mo Chit bus station and get on the first class bus to Phitsanulok. Several buses leave throughout the day, on the hour. The journey will be about 6 hours. Tell them when you arrive and they will come pick you up from the bus station.
Minibus is a final option, but not the most comfortable one usually. If you do decide to go by minivan, they will pick you up from the minivan station for free.
Flying into Bangkok and want to come straight to the camp by car? Book your flight to arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) or Don Mueang Airport (DMK). A pick up from Chiang Mai airport is also possible. They can arrange a private transfer to collect you from airport arrivals and bring you to the camp. They can also pick you up from any other address in Bangkok or Chiang Mai, like your hotel. Pick up by their car from Bangkok (4500 THB) or Chiang Mai (5500 THB).
Travel by train will take around 6.5 hours. Phitsanulok is well connected with several cities and trains go throughout the day. Make sure you get a first or second class ticket; without aircon it might be a sweaty journey. Tell them what train you're on and they will be there to pick you up at the train station for free.
