Once you arrive, continue to the exit gate, and you will be met and greeted by your travel host and transferred to your hotel. Have some time to relax before you meet for cocktails.

Before you cap off the day with a delicious dinner at a local restaurant, let’s start with a little cocktail hour (Included) on one of the best rooftops in Oaxaca! With stunning city views and a cozy atmosphere, this rooftop bar is the perfect spot to start Oaxaca exploration.

After cocktails, you’ll head to a local restaurant for a super typical Oaxacan dinner that will satisfy and delight you. From the fragrant and spicy mole to the hearty and comforting tlayudas, the flavors of Oaxaca will take center stage in this delicious meal accompanied by a selection of local wines or mezcals (drinks not included).

Day 2: Oaxaca, a magical town

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, you would embark on a walking tour of the colorful historic center of Oaxaca, led by a knowledgeable local guide. The tour would include visits to historical landmarks such as the Santo Domingo church and the zocalo and stops at local markets and artisan workshops.

After the walking tour, you would have some free time for lunch on your own. Some recommended options include trying a tlayuda, a traditional Oaxacan street food made with a large crispy tortilla topped with beans, cheese, and other toppings, or visiting a local restaurant for a more formal Oaxacan meal such as mole or chile relleno.

Next, continue to Mezcaloteca, a popular mezcal bar and tasting room in the heart of Oaxaca City. Here they would have the opportunity to sample a variety of high-quality mezcals and learn about the production process and the history of mezcal in Oaxaca.

After the mezcal tasting, continue to a nearby “Cantina” for a cocktail workshop with a local host. Here they would learn how to make traditional cocktails, such as a mezcal margarita or a Mezcalina, and have the opportunity to try making your own inventions. After the workshop, SAT Mexico Tours will recommend some places to have dinner and finish the night.
