Enjoy a three day trip into the heart of the Mekong Delta as you ride on the country roads and discover tranquil scenery and rural lives of locals on the less traveled paths.
Day 1: My Tho to Cai Be (180 kilometers / 112 miles)
You will depart at 7:30 a.m. from Saigon to Tan An Town driving your motorbikes through the peaceful villages. The scene changes from bustling streets with buildings and noise to peaceful rice paddles with cottages and small houses on the way - in the open air on your “steel horses”.
You will stop at My Tho for some rest and have lunch at a local restaurant. Next, you will keep riding to Cai Be along the sides of Tien River to enjoy the tranquil rice fields, orchards, water buffalos, and ducks swimming in the same river.
You will arrive at Cai Be in the late afternoon, where you along with your motorbikes, will take a boat to the Vietnamese traditional ancient house, which is one of the nicest and oldest ancient house in the South of Vietnam. It has remained intact over hundreds of years even after facing many turbulent occurrences in the wartime. Enjoy a welcome dinner prepared by your friendly local hosts. Overnight accommodation will be a homestay in Cai Be. You will be offered lunch and dinner on this day.
Day 2: Vinh Long to Can Tho (90 kilometers / 56 miles)
Today you will start your day with an early breakfast and a cup of Vietnamese bean coffee. You will head towards the island and get a chance to meet the local villagers and farmers. You will also take a short cruise on Tien River to visit the unique floating market of southern Vietnam.
You will disembark in Vinh Long Pier in the late morning and will then head for Cantho on your motorbikes with a few stops on the way to experience the daily life in the Mekong Delta region. Overnight stay will be in Cantho. You will be offered all the three meals today.
Day 3: Cai Rang to Saigon (215 kilometers / 136 miles)
You will start at 6:30 a.m. to take a ride to Ninh Kieu Pier, from where you will take a boat trip to the Cai Rang floating market which is one of the busiest fruit markets in Southeast Asia. You will have a long distance cruise and walk on a quiet country road to appreciate the magnificent scenery and get close to the locals as they go about their daily routine. You will return to your hotel for breakfast.
Next, you will have a short visit to Can Tho central market and the ancient house of Binh Thuy. The house is designed with a combination of Vietnamese and French architecture and has many interesting stories associated with it. It also a garden with various flowers and fruits, including a wide range of orchids and a record cactus.
You will take a motor ride heading back to Saigon by 1A highway on your “steel horses” with in-between stops for rest and an en route lunch. You will arrive at your hotel in Saigon in the late afternoon. You will enjoy a delicious breakfast and lunch today.
