Incredible Riding with the Kenya Wildlife

Enjoy a wildlife experience from the seat of your motorbike! This itinerary will take you from Soysambu Conservancy, where you can see giraffes, gazelles, and zebras amongst others up close on two wheels. From Soysambu, on to Kajiado and finally on to Tawi, Kenya’s south-eastern border with Tanzania and close to the Amboseli National Reserve and its mighty elephants.

Accommodation

Following your arrival in Nairobi, you will stay in Tamarind Tree Hotel. Afterward, during the tour, you will stay at various accommodations arranged by Dusty Helmets.

Room bookings are done in twin rooms at the Tamarind Tree Hotel, single rooms at Punda Milias Nakuru Camp (unless otherwise requested), then twin rooms at the Lerruat lodge, then simple local lodging in twin rooms too. All accommodation is subject to availability at the time of booking.

Punda Milias Nakuru Camp

Punda Milias Nakuru Camp is situated along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway. Punda Milias is Swahili for Zebras, a common sighting in the area. The camp is a place where you can experience a stunning, peaceful, and relaxing time with all the facilities you need. Nothing beats the experience of spending time in this outdoor camp. Its mission is to make your stay stress-free, enjoyable, and memorable.

Program

This itinerary is for riders in normal physical conditions and has no set dates. Dates for this trip can be accommodated to suit the riders’ preferred dates.

This itinerary will take you from Soysambu Conservancy, where you can see giraffes, gazelles, and zebras amongst others up close on 2 wheels. From Soysambu, on to Kajiado, and finally on to Tawi, Kenya’s south-eastern border with Tanzania. Beautiful landscapes, great wildlife sightings.

Daily riding times vary but on average you spend approximately 5 to 7 hours out riding.

Day 1

Arrive in Nairobi. You will be picked up at JKIA and take to the Tamarind Tree Hotel. Overnight at Tamarind Tree Hotel.

Day 2

Early morning collection from Nairobi. Approximately a three-hour drive to Punda Milias Camp (by vehicle). Meet your riding crew. After a briefing about the bikes and safety while out riding, time to ride!

The Conservancy is home to plenty of plains game, zebra, giraffe, gazelle, as well as buffalo amongst other animals. Riding on and around the conservancy is unbelievably beautiful and seeing the animals from the seat of your motorbike is an experience of a lifetime. Overnight Punda Milias Camp.

Day 3

Full day out and about exploring Soysambu Conservancy. Option of a picnic lunch out, or lunch back at camp. There are plenty of routes you can ride. The whole area offers different terrains and different levels of riding – from intermediate to more technical riding. Overnight Punda Milias Camp.

Day 4

After breakfast, you ride back out of the Great Rift Valley, past the famous Ngong Hills from the film "Out of Africa" and head south to Kajiado. Overnight at the Lerruat Lodge that is located at the top of a steep hill and offer a beautiful view of the surroundings.

Day 5

After breakfast, depart from Kajiado and ride towards Amboseli National Reserve. The landscape changes so much, from woodlands to dry lake beds and lush river swamps. Overnight at the Kimana Omega Safari lodge.

Day 6

Full day riding around Tawi . Look out for the mighty Amboseli elephants and incredible views of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Overnight at the same site as yesterday.

Day 7

After breakfast, ride from Tawi to Karen, a suburb of Nairobi. Once you get to Karen, you leave the bikes and head out for a late lunch. A day room is available for showers before heading out to the airport for your flight home.

Note: There is no pillion passenger in our off-road rides. However, the tour will have 2 quads available should a guest who does not ride motorbikes wishes to participate.

Location

Starting in Nairobi, this tour takes you to Soysambu Conservancy, Ngong Hills, the border with Tanzania, then return to Nairobi.

Food

In Nairobi, you will be provided with breakfast. Full board meals are offered during the tour. You will enjoy international food. The lodges are well accustomed to international travelers.
