Come and explore Granada, a beautiful corner of Europe, and discover for yourself why the Moors made this their kingdom for over 700 years!
The accommodation for the duration of this tour will be in Enfield Classic Moto Tours' hostel in Salobreña. The hostel is laid out on two levels, with a roof terrace and has excellent views of the Sierra Nevada and its surrounding mountains.
Each room has its own private bathroom and a communal sitting / dining area. There is also a patio on the ground floor and a roof terrace. There are shops and supermarkets in the village, along with tapas bars and restaurants.
One of the nights on this tour, you will spend at the 4-star hotel near Alhambra Palace in Granada City.
Arrive at either Malaga (AGP) or Granada (GRX) airport, where you will be met by one of the Enfield Classic Moto Tours staff members and transported to your accommodation in Salobreña. After filling out the required paperwork, you will be given a short safety briefing and introduced to your Royal Enfield. Following this, you will have the remainder of the day to do as you please.
There is a good choice of restaurants and tapas bars in the village, some offering their menus in English. Feel free to wander through the narrow winding streets in the Old Arabic Quarter of the village as well as take in the stunning views of the Sierra Nevada and surrounding countryside from the 15th century Moorish Castle at the top.
After having breakfast, the tour begins. Heading north through the small mountain village of Otivar, you arrive in El Parque Natural Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama. Riding along El Camino De Cabera, you start heading west to El Lago Azul and Alahama De Granada, where you shall stop to have lunch.
You will then head off around the north side of El Lago Azul and start to make your way back towards Las Sierras De Albuñuelas, finally arriving back at the HQ around 6 p.m.
This morning, you'll set off in the direction of Granada before heading east through Lanjarón and into Las Alpujarras. Today’s tour will pass through Spain's highest mountain villages which are Pampaneira, Capileira, Bubion, and Trevélez (the highest village in Spain), where you will be stopping for an authentic “Alpujarreño” lunch.
Heading off again, you pass through Valor before turning south west through Cadiar for your return journey to your base in Velez.
Today, you travel through Tajo de los Vados Gorge and Los Guajaras before turning north towards Granada via Monachil for your ascent up to "La Parque Natural De La Sierra Nevada," where you will stop to have lunch. Heading off again, you make your way through Guejar-Sierra, then onto Granada city, where you shall be staying tonight.
After checking into the hotel, you will make your way along the edge of the "Rio Daro" and up to the "Hammam Al Ándalus" Arab baths, where you will enjoy 90 minutes of relaxation and massage.
As Granada is famous for its "Zambra Flamenco", later this evening the tour has arranged an authentic "Expectáculo de Flamenco". After the show, if the group is all up for it, you can visit the gypsy enclave known as "Sacromonte". This part of the city is famous for its traditional cave houses and was the birthplace of "Zambra" Flamenco.
This morning shall be spent touring the "Alhambra Palace," Gardens, and "Alcazaba Fortress." This UNESCO World Heritage site is one of the finest examples of Moorish architecture in the world, set against the stunning backdrop of the snow-capped (October-June) "Sierra Nevada" Mountains.
After your tour, you can stop off at one of the many famous tapas bars for some refreshments before settling down for lunch. After you have eaten, you will make your way back to the hotel before saying "hasta luego" to this stunning city and make your journey back to the accommodation in Salobreña.
Following breakfast, today will see you travel east through Torvizcón and Sierra de Contraviesa. Turning south from Cherrin, you will head for Murtas, where you shall be visiting a traditional bodega and stopping for lunch. On your return journey, you will continue south through La Sierra de Alheyon and Los Gualchos, then head west along the coast road towards Málaga and your final leg of the journey back to the base.
You are leaving today, so you will be transported to the airport for the flight home. Hopefully, you will have had an unforgettable experience with Enfield Classic Moto Tours. Goodbye for now and thank you for booking with Enfield Classic Moto Tours.
Please be aware that the itinerary may need to change due to weather, road conditions, or other factors. Please be flexible, but rest assured your tour leader will make the final day-to-day decisions only after consultation with the group members.
On arrival, you are required to pay an Accidental Damage Deposit of 500 EUR (or equivalent if you prefer to pay in your local currency and preferably in cash) to cover damages to any of the motos. This will be returned in full at the end of your tour, provided no damage has been caused.
Most people have dropped their bikes at some stage in their riding career, and it is found that Enfields are very forgiving in this respect. Minor damage can sometimes be fixed easily in-house, but sometimes it can not. If any of the motos are dropped or crashed, causing damage that cannot be repaired in this manner, you are liable for the cost of the repair. This will be deducted from your Accidental Damage Deposit. Thankfully, this is a rarity!
All rentals include third-party liability insurance. For insurance purposes, all riders must be over 25 years of age and be in possession of a valid motorcycle license for at least two years.
You can also use your own Enfield or classic bike for this tour (please contact Enfield Classic Moto Tours for the rates).
The Alhambra complex is massive and consists of many different areas, the most impressive being the Nasrid Palaces. As this is the most visited attraction in Spain, it is necessary to book the entrance tickets well in advance, and even then tickets for this area of the complex can be completely sold out.
If this situation arises, the team will monitor the Alhambra website for cancelations for the Nasrid Palace, and if none are available by the time of your arrival, you will still be able to visit the rest of the Alhambra Complex and the cost of your entrance fees will be refunded.
