Riding info
You are in Mongolia to ride. Once out of Ulaan Bataar there are little or no roads but tracks and steppe. Your guide will brief you on what to watch out for such as animals, sand, and mud. You will soon get used to it and find riding an amazing experience.
License
Please bring an international license to Mongolia as well as your country license. This is a prerequisite for riding here although in practice there are not many roads involved!
Bikes
The tour will use the Royal Enfield 500cc either the Classic, Desert Storm, or Bullet, an icon of the motorcycling world. This bike is resilient and will take whatever you can throw at it on whatever terrain. Built for the Indian roads and thumping since 1949, in Mongolia the tour uses the Bullet. The Extreme Bike Tours team has fitted them with off-road tires and the bike is up to the job!
Pillions
The group will have several support vehicles following for the entire tour so there is a chance to vary your journey and ride in the van should your backside need a break. Please bring whatever you think you might need for your comfort. On the whole, pillions spend at least 50% of the time in the vehicle but this is also an amazing journey.
Difficulty
Mongolia is almost entirely off-road based tour. It tends to be for experienced riders, although the tour did have some less experienced testing their mettle on this tour. You are camping along the route and it is physically demanding.
