During this tour, you will stay in a centrally-located four-star boutique hotel on nights one to four.

Program

Day 1: Napoli buddy tour

You will arrive at Naples International Airport (NAP) and have a private transfer to the city center. Your accommodation will be in a four-star boutique hotel. You will meet your local buddy for a Neapolitan walking tour and a drive into the city.

You can find out all you need to fit your vacation to your personal interests and get confident with public transports, city maps, and more. Clara and his friends will give you great tips on where to eat the best and most authentic pizzas in town! You will be given free time for dinner. Then, you will return to the hotel where you will stay overnight.

Day 2: Napoli traditions, tales and tastes tour plus underground Naples

After breakfast, the team will pick you up from your hotel for the beginning of a morning tour through the alleys of the historic center. Travelers will be taken to discover the real Naples and its older traditions, superstitions, sounds, and flavors. The tour will reveal beautiful monuments and ancient shops of lutes and handcrafts with mouthwatering culinary stops for a full experience of Napoli’s soul.

During the tour, you will admire some of the most interesting monuments of the city such as the Santa Chiara Church, Gesù Nuovo Church, San Severo Chapel or veiled Christs, San Gregorio Armeno Church, Cathedral, and San Gennaro Chapel. You will visit some of the oldest handicraft shops of the historical quarters, admiring Mandolin makers and nativity scene sculptures.

You will taste real Neapolitan coffee accompanied by a typical pastry and end the tour with a glass of local wine and taralli. You will have free time for lunch and before the evening, you will enjoy a tour 40 meters under! You find a different world, unexplored and isolated by time but deeply connected with the world above.

It is the heart of Naples and the place from which the city was born, a world 2,400 years old. Every historic epic from the foundation of Neopolis to the bombs of World War II has left its mark on the walls of the yellow tufa stone, the soul of Naples, and the stone with which the city was built. In the evening, you can enjoy your overnight stay.

Day 3: Campi Flegrei, the archeological park of Baia

You will be served with scrumptious breakfast. You will depart for a visit to the “Archeological Park of Baia,” the breathtaking Roman city where Cesar, Augustus, and other emperors built them villas and spend their free time between secret lovers and plots.

You will visit the Castle of Baia, the fairy-tale fortress dominating the sea, built during the 15th Century the by Spanish sovereign. The castle hosts an important museum where you will see finds dated more than 2,000 years ago, covered by mysteries and coming from arcane civilizations.

You can have lunch in a typical fresh fish food restaurant on the port of Baia, at your own expense. Thereafter, you will visit the ancient Roman market called by locals as the Temple of Serapide. Coffee will be perfect as you stroll through the alleyway surrounding the port famous for the suggestive atmosphere made of colors, sea breeze, and friendly people.

You will visit the Flavian Amphitheater, the Roman arena projected by the same architect who did the Colosseum and famous for the basement where there are still visible holes and the caves that used to put the cages of beasts and create scenic effects. You will return to Naples where you will stay overnight and have free time at your disposal.

Day 4: Pompeii and Sorrento with limoncello tasting

After breakfast, you will departure from Napoli Central Station for a full day tour including the wonders of Pompeii and the zesty allure of Sorrento on the Amalfi Coast. You will meet your guide in Central Naples and hop aboard a private coach for a small group excursion up to 15 persons.

You will have a short jaunt over to the world-famous ruins of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Pompeii where you will step back into history. A miraculously haunting place to visit, you will truly absorb the lives of the Roman patricians and townspeople before they met their untimely and dreadful demise.

You will explore the well-preserved fossils buried beneath ash for centuries, marvel at the multi-colored mosaics still lining the Domus or homes of the ancient city’s most influential peoples, and see areas just newly opened to the public, still decorated with frescoes of animals, gods, and landscapes.

You will then take a short break for coffee and a bit of shopping among local vendors before you continue on to Sorrento which overlooks the beautiful azure waters of the Bay of Naples. On the way, you will be entertained with tales of the area and its rich history as the preferred vacation spot for Roman Emperors.

There, you will have time to explore the town on your own. Your local expert guide will provide you with suggestions on places to visit, things to see, and the best shops and cafés to patron so you enjoy the most the seaside city has to offer. You can amble down ancient alleys, relax in picturesque gardens, and take a postcard-worthy panoramic of the bay. The choice is entirely up to you.

After your individual exploration you will rejoin your guide and the group for a taste of Southern Italy’s most delectable liqueur, limoncello. You will learn how it is produced in one of Sorrento’s oldest shops and see the local ingredients that make the lemony libation so unique. You will head back to Naples or for those who wish, the team can include an extension on the Amalfi Coast. You will have free time for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 5: Departure or extension to the Amalfi Coast

After breakfast, you will check out and have a private transfer to Naples International Airport (NAP). You can also continue your vacation on the Amalfi Coast or the beautiful secluded island of Procida.
