Day 1 - Milan

You will arrive at Milan’s airport, where a transfer to the city center awaits. You will check-in a three-star hotel. You can enjoy the free afternoon to visit the city center by your own and in the evening you may take a walk on Navigli, with an aperitif, while discovering one of the most vibrant part of the city. Overnight will be in Milan.

Day 2 - Milan

This morning you will have breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast,you will meet with your local buddy guide for a private unusual visit to Milan’s artistic and historical quarters. You will get to discover Milan on a slow tram ride through the city center, starting in Piazzale Cadorna, under the famous “Needle-and-Thread” monument.

Visit Sforza Castle, where your guide will tell you the history of the Ducal residence and one of the largest citadels in Europe. Located at the margins of Sempione Park, the castle provides panoramic views of the Arch of Peace, Milan’s commemorative arch, built by Luigi Cagnola at the request of Napoleon.

You will embark the line 1 tram to see the historic street cars of the 1930’s, across the city center. You will pass through the Brera district en route to Cordusio, the heart of Milan’s financial district. Then, you will take a walking tour of the city center to see the imposing Duomo Cathedral, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele and La Scala Opera House.

You will take the same tram line and go through the fashion district. In this ride,you will pass the consulate buildings of the diplomatic quarters and admire the monuments of Piazza della Repubblica. The tour will end on Corso Buenos Aires, one of Milan’s main shopping avenues, making this a perfect stop for you to enjoy some free time to shop!You will choose where to dine and overnight will be in Milan.

Day 3 - Lake Como

This morning you will have breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, you will go to the train station to take the morning train to Como and check-in to the hotel. After the check-in,you will meet with your local guide for a private half a day experience around lake Como. You will start by exploring the historical center of Como, before getting to the docks.

You will catch the ferry for a cruise of the lake. While cruising along the lake shores, you can admire Villa d’Este, Villa Pizzo (former seat of the Archduke Ranieri), the former Cambiaghi Villas, Villa le Rose, Villa Passalacqua (designed by Felice Soave), the beach at Moltrasio and the Oratory of San Rocco.

Near the jetty you will see the famous Villa Scalfi, where Vincenzo Bellini composed “La Straniera” and the tiny harbour with the seat of the Rowing Club, the Castle at Urio with its magnificent gardens, the Romanesque bell tower of the Church of Saints Quirico and Giovita, Villa Fuoco (now Villa Baragiola Carcano) ,once the home of Sofia Fuoco, Villa Ripiego, former home of Count Trivulzio (now of Viganotti Giusti).

The tour ends in the small port of Carate, where you can see one of the few transport boats still existing on the lake. You will also explore the small fishermen village of Torno, before you get back to Como. Enjoy the free time to walk along the gorgeous lake streets and to get dinner. Overnight will be in Como.

Day 4 - Lake Como

This morning you will have breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, you will head to the village of Brunate.The village is situated at 700 meters above the sea level and for that,you will take the panoramic funicular railway up the mountain. Upon arrival, you will follow the path to the Lighthouse of San Maurizio, where the vista extends over Lake Como and to the Madonnina (statue of the Virgin Mary), atop the Cathedral of Milan. You will have the evening for yourself to visit, explore and enjoy a dinner. Overnight will be in Como. (Depending on your flight’s schedule, you can return to Milan by late afternoon train)

Day 5 - Lake Como

This morning you will have breakfast at the hotel and then check-out. You will have free time at leisure for a last stroll. After that, you will return to Milan by train or reserve a private transfer to Milan airport.
