There will be free time to ensure your holiday is not frantic but rather a relaxing and fulfilling experience. Enjoy wine and Armagnac from limited reserves, and explore all the best Gascony has to offer in this once-in-a-lifetime trip. Take home new skills learned in your hands-on cookery course. Meet new people or come as a group.
The itinerary is for guidance only and is subject to change depending on the group’s needs and wishes but is typically as follows:
Day 1: Arrival day
Arrive in the afternoon to be greeted by your friendly hosts. There is a free collection service from Agen train station. Airport (Toulouse, Bordeaux, Bergerac) collections can be arranged upon request for a supplement.
Settle into your delightful room before getting to know your fellow guests over delicious aperitifs.
Enjoy a social evening with a three-course gourmet dinner served in the farmhouse kitchen along with a short introduction from your hosts about what to expect over the next few days.
-Day 2: Market and boutique wines
This morning after breakfast you will go to a local delightful village market. Coffee and croissants with the locals with a brief history of the ancient kingdom of Henri IV, the future king of France. You will then return to the farmhouse to relax by the pool. A delicious lunch will be served by the pool or in the farmhouse kitchen.
After lunch, you will begin to explore the wines of the region, sampling the best wines you have discovered from local family producers. Learn the differences between the great wines and how to select the right wine to best accompany your meal. This is a wine course like no other – your hosts select only the best wines from the best boutique vineyards in France.
Dinner will be served back at the farmhouse giving you time to relax in the lounge or by the swimming pool or to take advantage of one of the onsite activities such as pool, table tennis or cycling
-Day 3 to 7: Cooking school
After a leisurely breakfast, it’s time to enter the kitchen and begin your culinary experience!
You will focus on preparing delicious meals from fresh local ingredients. You’ll prepare lunch and then dinner. You will occasionally escape the kitchen to visit local markets during the day where your chef will guide you through what to look for in good ingredients.
During this course you will learn to prepare meals from scratch. You’ll do the work, guided by Jerome. This is not a demonstration course.
