Program

Is the Fresh Start Recharge Program right for you? The answer is yes, if:

  • You are a natural health seeker looking for routine health maintenance
  • You want to simply get away to recharge your soul, de-stress, and reboot
  • You are looking into the program to address minor body dysfunctions (e.g. digestive bloating, brain fog, mild anxiety due to high stress), and you do not intend to address more advanced health conditions (e.g. Diabetes, Colitis, Depression)
  • You are physically capable of walking for an hour and participating in a moderate level of physical activity (yoga / fitness classes / guided nature hikes)
  • You appreciate professional guidance and tried and advanced expertise on whole-body detoxification
  • You are excited about the idea of cleansing with the combo of fresh organic juices, quality supplementation, and healthy food
  • You love top-quality body treatments and highly skilled and intuitive practitioners
  • You are okay with temporary detox symptoms (e.g. headaches, nausea, low energy, etc.) in order to allow your body to get rid of unwanted toxins and start working optimally after
  • You can tolerate bitter herbs, taking multiple capsules throughout the day, acid-containing drinks (lemon, cranberry) and other stuff, some of which may not always taste great but “is good for you.”
  • You are looking forward to enjoying a variety of yummy gourmet vegan meals (primarily raw and some cooked dishes)
  • You want to return home feeling light, refreshed, and energized

What to expect from your retreat

On the arrival day, you’ll start with a guided orientation to the program and a tour of the Fresh Start facilities and amenities by the Program Director.

The next morning, the guests will have a chance to connect with one another and enjoy an organized group bonding time.

Mornings are more structured and include various detoxification drinks, supplements, breakfast, yoga, fitness, meditation, and educational classes. Afternoons and evenings are more laid-back and busy with one-on-one treatments, along with lunch, supper, steam baths and other optional activities.

Please be aware that some of your treatments may be scheduled in the morning, and in a way, they could conflict with other activities on the schedule. While you may have to miss a fitness class or a health lecture, please keep in mind that detoxing treatments need to take priority.

There are plenty of rest periods throughout the day, so you can slow down, unwind and recharge.

On the Digestive Flush days (Wednesday and Thursday), their experienced staff member will guide you through the process. You may want to nap or rest a bit more during those days.

If you need additional help throughout the program, your Program Director will be happy to provide it. If you’re experiencing some common detox symptoms such as headache, nausea, hypoglycemia or sleep issues, he/she will give you various supplements to assist with these.

In addition to the daily guidance and morning health check-ins with the Program Director, you will have support throughout the program from their insightful practitioners and helpful Program Coordinator.

Program supplements, schedule, and other components may slightly vary from the description above, due to ongoing program development and other reasons.

Typical day

06:45 Magnesium and Adrenal Rebuilding Protocols

These supplements support your nervous system and adrenals – small grape-sized glands located on top of your kidneys and responsible for your energy levels. You’ll start taking the supplement on Tuesday.

07:00 Yoga or meditation class

Starting the day on a positive note is essential. Yoga and guided meditation will help remove stagnant energy from the cells and recharge you for the day. Yoga and meditation classes alternate, so you have 3 of each per week, except there is one Monday in each program cycle when the class is not run.

Additionally, there is no class on the departure day.

08:00 Green smoothie and check in

Nourish your body with minerals and amino acids, and assist your digestion with working properly. Green smoothies include fruit, a variety of green leafy vegetables, and superfoods (Goji Berries, Chia Seeds, Incan Berries etc.).

With smoothies, you’ll also receive various cleanses. On Monday and Tuesday there is offered lung cleanse; and on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, a kidney cleanse.

08:00 - 13:00 Hydration

Water is essential for your health, especially for brain function, as it has the smallest capillaries compared to other organs. Scheduled hydration is extremely beneficial for every cell.

08:30 Gi and Lymph Flush - Wednesday and Thursday only

On Wednesday and Thursday, they offer an advanced entire digestive tract and lymph flush called Isotonic.

09:00 Breakfast

Enjoy delicious, nutritious, and beautiful to the eye vegan organic meal prepared by their chefs. Since digestion and the liver are a system and an organ that typically needs the most support, your meals are served with Liver Activation Shot™, as well as quality probiotics and digestive enzymes.

Other cleanses and supplements are served with breakfast, and they vary depending on the day.

09:45 Morning health class

On Mondays and some Saturdays, they organize group time, which allows participants to bond on a deeper level. On Tuesday and Friday, there are scheduled healthy food demos and other classes. On Wednesday and Thursday, it is the time of a rest period, which is required after the intensive flush.

11:00 Fitness class or independent walk

Twice a week, enjoy an invigorating fitness class either indoors or, if weather permits, outdoors. On the rest of the days, you’ll be able to have some quiet personal time or to go for another walk.

11:45 Liver cleanse or green juice

Twice a week, a green juice is served. Four times a week, you’ll be offered Liver Cleanse, which includes shot made from Fresh Dandelion Greens and Tart Cherry Juice, as well as herbal Milk Thistle Shot and Liver Capsules.

12:00 Health class or workshop

Enjoy a variety of health-related topics shared by our knowledgeable team.

13:00 Lunch

Time to add more nutrients. Their guilt-free healthy meals are served with a digestion-enhancing shot and more probiotics and digestive enzymes. Additionally, other cleanses and supplements are served with the lunch, and they vary, depending on a day.

13:30 - 16:00 Rest or guided walk, excursion

These unstructured rest periods are well-loved by their guests, who come from busy lifestyles on the schedule. This is a great time to get your blood moving and moods lifted by walking on the beach overlooking the Desolation Mountain range, or to get a nap.

Twice a week, their guide will take you to various places in the valley for a nature walk. There are two options of time for the walks (1:30-3:00 and 3:15-4:45), so you can choose the one that is not during your treatment time.

14:30 - 18:00 Hydration

Enjoy more purified water with lemon juice, honey, or herbal teas. Please aim to finish your 3 liters of liquids, including morning and evening teas, by the evening.

16:00 Health video

Watch the video for the day in your room on a dedicated TV channel. If you have treatments during that time, feel free to watch the video when convenient.

17:00 Supper

Following the principle ‘eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a queen and supper like a popper', their suppers consist of a hot vegetable soup and gluten-free crackers. This allows for the nervous, hormonal, and digestive systems to take a break and restore optimally at night.

Cleanses and supplements are served with the supper, and they vary, depending on a day.

17:30 - 21:00 Hydrotherapy

Water is one of the most effective methods of balancing the nervous system and releasing negative emotions. Using a combination of a steam bath, cold showers, and aromatherapy provides great physical benefits and powerfully cleanses and restores energetic organs that some people call aura and charkas.

19:00 - 21:00 Evening activities

Once or twice a week, they organize fun and relaxing activities such as games, movies, or bonfire nights

19:00 - 21:00 Good night teas and parasite cleanse

After coming from the steam room, enjoy a cup of relaxing herbal tea in the hotel lobby. The tea contains calming herbs, such as pasque flower, melissa, and other nervous system tonics. The tea is complemented with parasite cleanse, which will be provided for self-serve in the beginning of the week.

13:30 - 21:30 Time for individual therapies (your therapies schedule will be provided upon arrival)

The 7-day program includes six one-on-one treatments. Most treatments are scheduled in the afternoon and evening, with some occasional exceptions that can be scheduled before lunch. This type of scheduling ensures that you can take all of your herbal drinks and participate in the majority of morning classes

21:00 Sleep time

Let your body unwind and get much needed rest. Sleep tight! They highly suggest that you avoid social media and computer work 2 hours before sleep, especially if you have sleep issues, as stimulation of the eyes late at night may negatively impact sleep quality.

Note: On Wednesday and Thursday, breakfast is not offered due to GI and Lymph Flush. On those days, at 9:30 am, Toxin Absorbent drink “Poultice” is served.

Included excursions

They are located amongst beautiful rain forest on Vancouver Island. During your stay, you'll have a chance to enjoy two guided walks / excursions to local nature parks: Bear Creek, Elk Falls, Oyster Bay Park or Miracle Beach. It will depend which week you'll be here for.

Location

They run all of their programs from Ocean Resort, since 2010. It's an oceanside property, a few short steps away from the water and waves. You can enjoy the ocean breeze, mountain view, and wild nature of beautiful Vancouver Island. The weather here is very mild, and temperatures are moderate most of the year.

The buildings have lovely natural décor, stunning views, and healing energy. The retreat is conveniently located only 30 minutes from Comox Airport, offering direct flights from many cities.

Distances

  • Comox Airport - 30 minutes

Food

Over the years, they’ve crafted a fantastic cleansing menu that is both healthy and nutritious and gourmet and delicious. Their ingredients are fresh and organic (with the exception of rare specialty items not available in organically certified form).

Your meals consist of various raw vegetables, fruit, nuts and seeds, hot evening soups with gluten-free (not raw) crackers and a few cooked / baked dishes. These clean, detoxifying, and living foods have proven to improve digestion, nourish your cells, restore enzymes, and assist in energy restoration.

They use vegan cuisine (with the exception of honey). Your meals are dairy, gluten, meat, fish and other seafood, sugar and eggs free.

They support the local food-growing community and purchase most of their produce from local farmers and a family-owned health food store that supports the local growers.

They are a small retreat with limited kitchen space and are not staffed to accommodate every need / wish. This is why they want to ensure you read in detail about what foods they offer and that you enjoy this type of food.

It is super tasty and prepared with a lot of love, but, like everything, it cannot meet everyone’s tastes and standards. If you do not like vegetables and salads, have difficulty eating healthy foods in general, or do not like or cannot eat many foods, the program is probably not for you.

Meal customization

They allow up to 4 guests with meal customization needs. Please review a list of ingredients that will require Head Chef's approval. These have an additional cost of 150 CAD per 7-day program. The fee covers additional planning, preparation, and dishes time.
