Full Circle now has three cozy Scandinavian cabins that each sleep six people. The cabins are purpose-built for warmth and protection from the changeable Lake District weather. So you get to be close to the sublime beauty of the landscape while staying snug and comfortable. The yurts are traditional Mongolian Yurts. They have been handcrafted in Mongolia and imported by Ulann Taij. These yurts are the real thing, not a western copy; living and breathing structures that stretch back into the history of humankind. They are decorated in traditional Mongolian symbols and colors.

Rydal is the quintessential heart of The Lake District. On one side, you'll have the ornate gardens of the stately home Rydal Hall, on the other are found ancient woodland and open fellside.

Rydal Beck

From your bed, you are within earshot of its spectacular series of stunning waterfalls and plunge pools. The yurts nestle beneath a century-old grove of giant redwood Sequoiadendron giganteum and look down onto a thousand-year-old Sweet Chestnut Castanea sativa.

Rydal is where the Poet Laureate William Wordsworth lived and his home, Rydal Mount, is open to visitors. It is from here that he would stage his numerous walking trips. From his door, you can follow his footsteps up Fairfield, Loughrigg, Red Screes, Wansfell, Rydal Mount, or choose to follow the bottom of the valley around Rydal Water, Grasmere Lake, and along the River Rothay (by which Full Circle Wellness found otter scat when doing a survey for the Environment Agency).

On your way around Rydal Water, you can explore Rydal Caves, and heading into Ambleside, you can cross the popular stepping stones. Rydal is set on 30 acres of grounds in the heart of The Lake District. The possibilities for walking are limitless. On the grounds at Rydal are the beautifully restored historic gardens and secluded quiet gardens for contemplation.

There are acres of woodland with a beck and waterfalls and a good footpath to Ambleside and Grasmere. Rydal has the perfect mixture of relaxation, stimulus, and retreat for body, mind, and spirit. There is an organic vegetable garden onsite with chickens and orchards. Ask one of the volunteer gardeners for a tour. It is a very old site that has a serene air. People remark on the inherent calm of the site. It has ancient and very special heritage trees and uniquely to the UK a plethora of ‘epiphytes’, plants, and trees living off plants and trees, just like in the jungle. Come experience it for yourself.

The yurts and cabins are located exclusively at the top of Rydal Hall's camping field with the very best views. However, please note, you cannot drive your car to the yurt and it is a steep walk up to the yurts. Please pack accordingly and bring sensible shoes; you won't regret it. It's beautiful and keeps you healthy.
