Itinerary
Day 1: Saturday, Tarifa - Tangier - Chaouen (240 km / 149 miles)
You meet in Tarifa to cross the strait. Arrival in Morocco, after the border procedures, you will have lunch in Tetouan and continue the route towards Chaouen, a charming town where they recommend a good walk through its blue medina, characteristic and famous throughout the world. Group dinner and night in a hotel.
Day 2: Sunday, Chaouen - Fez (190 km / 118 miles)
After a good breakfast, you will leave towards Fez. At this stage you have about 215 kilometers. You will arrive in Fez around noon, and after lunch, you will tour the old medina on foot. The Medina of Fez is one of the most authentic and best preserved in the Arab world and is a World Heritage Site. Walking through its labyrinthine streets will be a unique experience.
Day 3: Monday, Fez - Merzouga (450 km / 280 miles)
In the morning, you will leave for the long route south. This will be a long day, but with many high points, being perhaps one of the best routes to do on a motorcycle in all of Morocco. You will cross the Middle Atlas until you reach Ifrane, also called “little Switzerland” due to its great resemblance to that country, you will cross the famous Giant Cedar forests and see its colony of wild monkeys. You will have lunch en route and continue towards the desert, passing through the impressive Ziz Valley and its palm grove. You will arrive to Merzouga, where you will sleep in a hotel at the foot of the dunes!
Day 4: Tuesday, Merzouga - Tinghir (150 km / 93 miles)
Morning rest in the dunes. You will enjoy the magnificent surroundings of the Erg Chebbi dunes, the most famous in southern Morocco. Possibility of doing extra activities in Erg Chebbi: camel riding, quads, etc. To choose from many variants! Lunch at the hotel and then departure on asphalt to Tinghir (2.5 hours). Group dinner at the hotel.
Day 5: Wednesday, Tinghir - Todra - Dades (325 km / 202 miles)
You will leave for the two most impressive gorges in Morocco: the Todra and Dades gorges, at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. You will travel through the Dadés Valley and finish the stage in Boumalne Dades, where you will rest in the afternoon.
Day 6: Thursday, Dades - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakesh (340 km / 211 miles)
Today's stage is also one of those ideal stages for driving. You will leave towards Marrakech. Along the way you will visit the Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and the setting for various film productions. You will cross the Tizi'n'Tichka mountain pass, the highest paved pass in the country. You will arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon. It is advisable to make your first contact by visiting the “unique” Djemaa el-Fna square, full of reciters, fortune tellers, jugglers, tooth pullers, dancers, snake charmers, and much more.
Day 7: Friday, Marrakesh - Rabat (280 km / 174 miles)
Free morning until 12:00 to rest in Marrakech. After that, a short highway route to Rabat, where you will spend the afternoon. The Moroccan capital offers several points of interest: you will walk through the Hassan Tower and the old medina, which still preserves the spirit of yesteryear. You will discover a totally different Morocco than the one you have seen in the desert and in Atlas.
Day 8: Saturday, Rabat - Tangier - Tarifa (210 km / miles)
You will get up and head north to look for your ferry back to Spain, where you will say goodbye and leave behind seven intense days in Morocco. End of the services.
