This holiday offers you a hiking experience in the Alpujarras and Sierra Nevada in Spain's stunning Almond Blossom season. You will spend 4 nights/3 days walking in the fabulous Sierra Nevada and Alpujarras of Spain. You will walk in the stunning almond blossom with the snow-capped Sierra Nevada as your backdrop. The walks are 10-15 km in length and are all on good paths.

Accommodation
During this holiday you will stay in Hotel Alquiera De Morayma. It's a beautiful hotel with large rooms all with fabulous views of the Sierra Nevada. Their large swimming pool is open between May-September. There's wifi in the bar/restaurant. They also have an excellent restaurant.
Program
Overview
Las Alpujarras in early spring is a sight to behold. The hills are covered in purples, pinks, and whites, and the air is scented with the heady smell of blossom. The Sierra Nevada is still covered in snow and makes an amazing backdrop for our days of walking.
The guided walking holiday is five days long with three days of guided walking and four nights in the excellent Alquiera de Morayma hotel. All food and transport in Spain are provided.
The guided walks will be of a leisurely nature, to enjoy the scenery and give you the chance to appreciate this stunning area.
Day 1: Airport Pick-up
- Meet at Malaga airport and leave for Cadiar at 14:00.
- Go through the week and answer any questions.
- Evening meal in Hotel Alquiera De Morayma
Day 2: Almond Groves and Vineyards - 13 km
- Vineyards, Orchards, and the Sierra Nevada; 13 km/400 m descent
- Transport to Barranco Obscuro vineyard (10 mins) where you start your walk down the Contraviesa mountain range. Walking downhill all day you will pass through almond orchards in full bloom with the snow-capped Sierra Nevada as the backdrop.
- Lunch in the village of Cadiar.
- Walk back to the hotel.
- Evening meal in the hotel.
Day 3: The Home of Gerald Brennan - 15 km
- Walking from the hotel you walk along a dry river bed which takes you to the small village of Yator, where you have a coffee break. From here you walk uphill on a vehicle track to the hamlet of Monte Negro before you get to the village of Yegen. This is the 1920s home of the Hispanista Gerald Brennan.
- Transfer back to the hotel (20 mins)
- Evening meal in the hotel
Day 4: Walk in the Campo
- Walk into the Campo; 12 km (16 km extension)/100 m descent
- Walking from the hotel out into the surrounding countryside and visiting the whitewashed villages of Lobras and Timar en route. You have the opportunity to see Ibex on the crags and Golden Eagles in the air on this wilder walk.
- Evening meal in the hotel
Day 5: Return To Airport
- Transfer to Malaga Airport
