A welcome meeting with a full briefing will be held on the first day in the evening during the aperitif. You will be provided with an assistance number so you can call Italy Gay Travels at any time during your stay.
Day 1 - Welcome to a wonderful vacation in Naples
Welcome to Naples! This vibrant seaside city is unique, renowned for its amazing food and gay nightlife. In the evening, join your fellow gay travelers and your tour hosts, Sergio and Kendall, for a complementary welcome dinner. During the night, participants will all get to meet each other and have a full briefing on the adventure that lies ahead.
After dinner, the group will enjoy a drink or two around Piazza Bellini, the heart of the gay night life of this city.
Day 2 - Naples
After breakfast, the gay Naples tour group will meet for a private tour of Naples. You will visit famous landmarks of the Old Town of Naples, such as the Spaccanapoli and the Spanish Quarters. The area is rich both in popular culture (San Gregorio Armeno and its street art being the symbol of the area) and historical landmarks, including many noteworthy churches.
There will be free time in the afternoon to enjoy the famous Piazza Bellini, a bustling piazza in the center of the city where you will find a multitude of gay-friendly restaurants, cafes, and bars. Another option is to head to a beach near the city. Please speak to your vacation leader for the arrangements needed.
- Meals included: Breakfast
Day 3 - Naples Sergio-style
On this day, after breakfast, the group will follow the tour leader on a private stroll across the center of the city. Sergio will show you his favorite spots of the most beautiful city in the world, according to him.
Passing through Via Toledo, Pignasecca, and the Spanish Quarters, you will end up at Piazza Plebiscito and Castel dell’Ovo. This seaside castle’s name derives from a legend about the Roman poet Virgil and the oldest standing fortification in Naples. From there, you can enjoy the beautiful sea view and admire Mount Vesuvius.
In the afternoon, there will be an optional visit to the island of Procida, one of the Phlegraean Islands, where participants will walk along its colorful streets and enjoy a tasty lunch by the sea in its small lively port. Returning to Naples, you will be free to spend the rest of the afternoon at your own leisure.
In the evening, enjoy a complementary typical dinner in Spaccanapoli. Italy Gay Travels will make sure you have a taste of the best South Italian food around.
- Meals included: Breakfast, dinner
Day 4 - Free day in Naples - Optional visit to Ischia
This day is a free day: spend the time as you wish and explore the area at your own pace. Your host will be around to offer advice and guidance as needed.
Many will appreciate this free time to pay a visit to Pompeii and its historical ruins. Pompeii is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering a unique snapshot of Roman life, frozen at the moment it was buried in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.
If history is not your thing, your host will be happy to lead an optional visit to Ischia, the largest island in the bay of Naples. The island is considered by many to be the most beautiful, though Capri is considerably more famous. It is volcanic in origin and still classed as an active volcano. No worries, though, as it has not erupted since 1302.
- Meals included: Breakfast
Day 5 Naples - Sorrento
After breakfast, it is time to pack. With a private transfer, participants will make their way to Sorrento. During the afternoon, do as you please: enjoy the vibrant center of Sorrento at your own pace. Shopping, beach, gelato - you choose! In the early evening, join for a stroll in Sorrento. Your host will lead you to discover the best sights of the town and its seaside.
- Meals included: Breakfast
Day 6 - Amalfi and Positano
In the morning, the group will enjoy a transfer to Positano. You will have a stroll downtown, through its little picturesque alleys, down to the beach. After lunch, participants will step on a hydrofoil and admire the Amalfi coastline from the sea, while reaching Amalfi. In the afternoon, they will visit this coast town popular for its scenic beauty.
There will be free time in the afternoon to enjoy some shopping, or maybe lying down on the beach? In the evening, a transfer will drive the group back to Sorrento, where they will stay overnight.
- Meals included: Breakfast
Day 7 - Capri
After breakfast, you will make your way to the marina. The group will step on a private boat and reach the island of Capri, in style. Capri has long been a hotspot for European gay life from the early 20th century. Participants will enjoy a boat ride around the island: it is the opportunity to have a dip off the boat and splash in the crystalline waters of the bay.
After the boat ride, you will have free time to enjoy lunch and a stroll around Capri: around its famous Piazzetta, you will discover fashion streets and glamourous boutiques. In the late afternoon, participants will enjoy aperitifs as they soak up this breathtaking scenery before taking a boat back to Sorrento.
In the evening, you will enjoy a complementary farewell dinner in the lively streets of Sorrento.
