Location

As the cradle of the Italian Renaissance, Tuscany has a unique and spectacular appeal. The region enshrines thousands of artworks, marvelous villas once owned by the Medici family, and perfectly preserved places such as San Gimignano, Volterra, Montalcino, and much more.

Moreover, Tuscany also has seemingly impossible constructions like the town of Pitigliano and important remains of bygone ages, specifically the Etruscan and Roman civilizations. All in all, the region has a wealth of history and picture-perfect landscapes unrivaled anywhere in the world.

It almost seems that time has stood still in the many medieval villages in Tuscany, where ancient jewels lend this breathtaking region the atmosphere and artistic beauty of a past now remote. Each old palazzo, cathedral, or church bears the mark of some major artist from the middle ages or the Renaissance.

The richness of the artistic heritage gathered in the most important cities, mainly in Florence (not forgetting Siena, Pisa, and Lucca) and also scattered all over the territory, makes Tuscany an undisputed highlight of the worldwide travel scene.

When it comes to the landscape and the natural environment, whether it’s the Siena Crests, the Val d’Orcia, the Garfagnana area, the Chianti Hills, or the Maremma, the spectacular beauty cannot fail to enthrall. In this area, nature has many faces, starting from the elegant Tuscan seaside, up to the unspoiled Apuan Alps. Yet the most characteristic scenery is a harmonious blend of natural beauty with the enchanting view of some medieval burg, rural chapel, or impressive monastery.
