Daily itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Verona
Individual arrival in Verona. At 6:00 p.m., there is a bike fitting at Itinera Bike shop if rental is included. Overnight in Verona.
Day 2: Verona - Lake Garda and back
- Distance: 62 kilometers / 39 miles
From the city center of Verona, you will bike towards Garda Lake among vineyards and olive trees. The view of the lake is wonderful: a charming blue mirror among high mountains. You can visit the villages of Garda and Bardolino, and then head back to the City of Love. Overnight in Verona.
Day 3: Verona - Montagnana
- Distance: 62 kilometers / 39 miles
From Verona, head to the east following the river Adige, cycling on bike paths and small country roads. You should stop in Cologna Veneta, the city of the delicious mandorlato (nougat), and then get to Montagnana, a small medieval city surrounded by well-preserved old walls. Overnight in Montagnana.
Day 4: Montagnana - Vicenza
- Distance: 60 kilometers / 37 miles
From the flatlands to the foot of the Berici Hills along little roads in the middle of the vineyards, passing through ancient villages with hundred-year-old villas and parks. Before getting to Vicenza, the charming city of Andrea Palladio, you can visit from outside one of his most famous masterpieces, Villa La Rotonda. Overnight in Vicenza.
Day 5: Vicenza - Bassano del Grappa
- Distance: 47 kilometers / 29 miles
The route winds in the countryside of Vicenza and approaches the foot of the Prealps, an area rich in rural houses and elegant Venetian Villas. Make a stop in the walled city of Marostica, famous for its living chess event and square, and in Villa Angarano, designed by Andrea Palladio: there you taste their nice organic wines. The arrival in Bassano del Grappa crossing the well-known wooden bridge will let you enjoy the beautiful view over the mountains. Overnight in Bassano del Grappa.
Day 6: Bassano del Grappa - Treviso
- Distance: 64 kilometers / 40 miles
You skirt the lush of Monte Grappa and the hills of Asolo, then following bike paths along streams of spring water, you arrive in Castelfranco Veneto, a walled city famous for being Giorgione’s hometown. The road to Treviso follows a shady bike path built over an old railway. Overnight in Treviso.
Day 7: Treviso - Venice Lagoon
- Distance: 52 kilometers / 32 miles
From Treviso, you follow the windy Sile River on a beautiful bike path, deep in the green of the woods, just interrupted by some noble Venetian Villas that reflect on the clear water of the river. The bike itinerary ends in Mestre. Here, they will bring you the luggage, collect the bikes, and wave you goodbye. Venezia is only 20 minutes away by bus or 10 minutes by train. If you have never been to Venice, consider spending at least an extra day to visit it. Overnight in Mestre (Venice).
Day 8: Departure from Mestre (Venice)

About the tour
- Distance: 64 kilometers per day / 40 miles
The route starts from the waters of Lake Garda and a visit to Verona. Head to Montagnana at the foot of the Euganean Hills and then Vicenza, rich in beautiful buildings designed by the famous architect Andrea Palladio. You will head north to Bassano del Grappa embraced by mountains; and then ride to Treviso and eventually reach the sea, enjoying a great view over Venice. The route mainly in the flat land skirts the Berici Hills and the Prealps beautiful areas where you can find elegant villas and lush nature. Final destination: the beautiful Venice.
The last overnight will be in Mestre, and from there, Venice is only 10 minutes away, by tram or train. You will mostly ride on secondary roads with little local car traffic; you will ride as well on some bike paths and some traits of roads open to car traffic. The road surface is mostly paved; there are few gravel sections. The tour is mostly flat, but expect some ups and downs. If you choose to carry your luggage with you, your bike will be equipped with two rear bags.
You can leave your trolley at the shop at departure. This is the most sustainable way to travel. If you want to ride as light as possible, add the daily van service of luggage transfer from hotel to hotel. If you like, rent the bike with Itinera Bike & Travel. It includes one or two panniers, a front handlebar bag, a mobile holder, a repair kit, a helmet, and a lock.
