Chinese medicine has such a beautiful way of looking at life and health. It takes its inspiration from observing nature. In ancient China, health practitioners observed health, disease, and the self-regulating nature of the organs. These medics distilled their observations into what is called today as the 'Chinese Clock'.
You will live and breathe this concept throughout your stay as you step into the rhythm of nature and reconnect with the rhythm of you.
Jo shares her years of wisdom through a series of workshops, gentle movement practices, and acupuncture treatments to help you take care of yourself. You'll also have lots of spare time in between to enjoy the wonderful food, sunshine, pool, and caves of this magical luxury retreat.

Jo has created a 3-day programme of daily hour-long workshops to help you unlock your own personal Chinese astrology chart. From teaching you about your signature energy, your true inner nature and the interactions with other aspects of your chart you’ll get to rediscover you.
You’ll get the chance to spend time with Jo to deepen your understanding of your chart and discover ways to enhance your self-care.
What is a Chinese medicine retreat?
It’s no different from any retreat, a wonderful opportunity to ‘withdraw, heal, and take great pleasure.’ This retreat has the added benefit of living in line with the natural rhythms of nature, which enable you to, as the Chinese proverb says, "make one day feel like three."
Your natural surroundings will be your therapy. Breathe in the pure clean air, drink fresh from the source water, and take in the most beautiful tree-filled vista. Your food is ‘made with love’ to nourish and sustain you. The saltwater pool will support you and the incredible caves will calm you. Daybeds and hammocks abound and mosaics fill the space with beauty. The energy is off the scale!
Days will be gentle and slow, allowing you to relax as hard as you like, with a sprinkling of Chinese medicine teachings and guided meditation and movement work with self-care suggestions to take home.
Activities:
- Qigong and meditation - simple, repetitive movement to help instil calmness and energy flow
- Workshops - daily hour-long workshops to help you unlock your own personal Chinese astrology chart. From teaching you about your signature energy, your true inner nature and the interactions with other aspects of your chart you’ll get to rediscover you. A mix of informative sessions about Chinese medicine and easy to follow practical advice to support your wellbeing and self-care
- Wellness activities - group acupuncture (acupuncture for relaxation in a group setting), acupressure with essential oils, walks plus find out how to look after yourself with Yang Sheng (teachings of nourishment of life).
- Yoga Nidra - a deeply relaxing guided meditation, suitable for all
- Meditation - guided meditation in the cave or yoga studio to focus your breath and to regulate your nervous system
Remember, this is your holiday and your time to relax and please yourself with nothing to do and nowhere to be. Enjoy the saltwater pool and cooling caves as much as you want.
