Many tourists visit big gym’s down South and expect a fantastic experience. Often this is not the case, as the classes are so busy that you will never get personalized training that properly develops your skills, and one-to-one slots are limited. The routines are not tailored, so injuries can occur when they are pushed too hard. At JP's, you will develop at a pace you are comfortable with and be welcomed and treated like family. Not only that, multiple day trips are organized throughout the week, including visits to temples and waterparks, which are not offered at other gyms. (And of course the secret Muay Boran techniques are taught too.)
Phitsanulok is the historical capital of Thailand, and the city itself is over 600 years old. If you are interested in history, then you will be fascinated by its past, and there are many beautiful temples surrounding the city that make a great day trip. Today the city has fantastic nightlife, and this is a glimpse of the real Thailand where you get to experience the culture. You won’t find hundreds of drunken tourists in this city.
On paper, JP’s might look slightly more expensive than the big tourist gyms, but have a closer look. Your price will include training and accommodation but never food and extras, meaning your bill can get very expensive. You will often be charged western prices for food, and it won’t be delicious local cuisine. JP’s price includes the full package, and you won’t pay a penny more.
There is a 7-eleven 20 meters away and local coffee shops and cafés next to the gym. If you would like to go into the city, then we have a minibus and a driver who can take you straight there.
You'll have a weekly challenge to run or walk the red stone steps and hike through the mountain to visit a Chinese temple. After seeing the temple, you continue to the top of the mountain to visit the ancient pagoda of King Naresuan the Great, Kind of Thailand, the first emperor to fight against Burma, bringing independence back to Thailand.
The picturesque lake and river are a must-see; join others for pad work at the lakeside. There's also the unique opportunity to take offerings to the monks and receive their blessings.
Every Sunday, you have the opportunity to relax at one of JP's family's favourite locations, like:
The city nightlife is vibrant and fun to experience; once a week we take you out to enjoy the night markets and all the great street food.
Phitsanulok has many beautiful temples to visit; the team will personally take you to their favourite spots where you can enjoy some meditation and sight-seeing.
