Program

JP BOXING GYM is here to cater to your every need, ensuring you find the perfect balance between physical challenge and mental relaxation. Their friendly and professional family team is your trusted guide, offering a variety of experiences, from mountaintop temples and meditation sessions with monks to waterparks and delightful dinner outings.

If you're passionate about intense training and the art of fighting, JP's is your dream destination. Their team includes trainers with experience coaching fighters to Olympic levels. The head coach, Kru Jay, is a Muay Thai veteran and a direct disciple of the legendary Samart Payakaroon, the greatest Muay Thai fighter of all time. Join the camp and embark on your journey to excellence!

Relax, unwind, and detoxify

You’ll have access to all daily yoga classes to ensure you are relaxed and revitalized throughout your time at JP. Day trips to mountaintop temples will allow you to partake in sacred meditation with the monks who live there, a truly unique experience that you will not find at another fight gym. You’ll be taken on hikes with breathtaking views, and the local scenery will leave you feeling inspired.

Coupled with healthy, traditional home-cooked food and a packed training schedule, you are guaranteed to be energized and full of life in your time at JP’s. If you’re feeling tired and burnt out, then you will have the option of a Thai massage to bring you back to life.

Muay Thai and Western Boxing

JP’s has a group of committed and friendly coaches who will train to your level, whether brand new or advanced. One-to-one sessions can be booked anytime and will leave you ready to fight if you choose to compete. Beginners can focus on footwork and basic combinations, while the more advanced will be shown combinations, drills and advanced techniques to take their Muay Thai to the next level

There are many expert trainers on camp, including Kru Chan, a former WBC Asian Boxing Champion who has trained pro fighters to Olympic level, and the head coach, Kru Jay, a Muay Thai veteran and accredited teacher who is the direct disciple of the greatest Muay Thai Fighter of all time, Samart Payakaroon

Kru Jay and others have also been extensively trained in the ancient art of Muay Boran. Soldiers were trained in Muay Boran by King Naresuan in case they lost their weapons in battle. The moves will disable an opponent instantly. Many gyms would never teach these techniques to foreigners, but you can learn if you choose

Whether looking to build cardio and learn the basics or become a seasoned, expert fighter, JP’s will have you covered and help you reach your goals

You’ll be submerged in Thai culture on every level, and we have a café at the camp serving delicious traditional Thai food whenever you are hungry.

No matter what you want from JP’s, the schedule is open and flexible for you to choose from. This is truly a hidden gem in the heart of Thailand, where you will experience secret spots and experiences not possible at any other gym.

Frequently asked questions

I have never trained Muay Thai before; will I be welcomed at JP’s?

JP’s is a family-run business that prides itself on making sure visitors have the best time possible and are shown the "real" Thailand that few others get to see. Scroll down below to see our collection of reviews that will show you JP’s is the camp for you

Why would I choose JP’s Boxing Gym over other well-known, larger boxing gyms in Bangkok & Phuket?

Many tourists visit big gym’s down South and expect a fantastic experience. Often this is not the case, as the classes are so busy that you will never get personalized training that properly develops your skills, and one-to-one slots are limited. The routines are not tailored, so injuries can occur when they are pushed too hard. At JP's, you will develop at a pace you are comfortable with and be welcomed and treated like family. Not only that, multiple day trips are organized throughout the week, including visits to temples and waterparks, which are not offered at other gyms. (And of course the secret Muay Boran techniques are taught too.)

I have never heard of Phitsanulok; is it worth visiting?

Phitsanulok is the historical capital of Thailand, and the city itself is over 600 years old. If you are interested in history, then you will be fascinated by its past, and there are many beautiful temples surrounding the city that make a great day trip. Today the city has fantastic nightlife, and this is a glimpse of the real Thailand where you get to experience the culture. You won’t find hundreds of drunken tourists in this city.

How will the price compare to other gym’s in Bangkok & Phuket?

On paper, JP’s might look slightly more expensive than the big tourist gyms, but have a closer look. Your price will include training and accommodation but never food and extras, meaning your bill can get very expensive. You will often be charged western prices for food, and it won’t be delicious local cuisine. JP’s price includes the full package, and you won’t pay a penny more.

Is there a nearby shop? What if I need to get into the city?

There is a 7-eleven 20 meters away and local coffee shops and cafés next to the gym. If you would like to go into the city, then we have a minibus and a driver who can take you straight there.

Included excursions

Red Buddha Run

You'll have a weekly challenge to run or walk the red stone steps and hike through the mountain to visit a Chinese temple. Meeting the monks

The picturesque lake and river are a must-see; join others for pad work at the lakeside. There's also the unique opportunity to take offerings to the monks and receive their blessings.

Sunday JP family day out

Every Sunday, you have the opportunity to relax at one of JP's family's favourite locations, like:

  • the ancient temples and ruins of Sukhothai
