Join Kerala Bike Tours for this fantastic tour of Southern India’s most beautiful spots and sights. Take the opportunity of riding on some of the most scenic roads in the world. Through Tea Plantations, Tropical rain Forests and Coconut plantations, passing Dams and Waterfalls and exploring and spotting Rare Animals, whilst staying in some of the most luxurious resorts in Kerala. This really is a tour not to be missed.
Kerala Bike Tours use an eclectic range of high-end accommodation ranging from boutique and luxury hotels to the tea estate and rainforest resorts, beautiful beach hideaways to eco-lodges, and Kerala Bike Tours are sure that each one will be an enjoyable and unique experience. Electric mosquito machines are provided throughout the tour, and nets are provided in the main areas, the backwaters, and Cochin.
You will be picked up from Cochin International Airport (COK) by your tour leader and you will be taken to rest and recuperate at the secret beach resort. You will be introduced to the other riders, the lovingly maintained bikes, and the back up team. Welcome dinner and beer is on the house.
After a morning relaxing around the pool and on the beach, you will set off inland stopping for lunch just near Kodanad Elephant Training Camp where you can join the elephants having their afternoon bath in the river. You will then take an interior route to reach Thattekad Bird Sanctuary where you will stay for the night in the secluded riverside resort with pool.
You will head off to Munnar after breakfast, reaching early afternoon to take full advantage of the two-night stay in Windermere Estates Plantation and Retreat. Chill by the pool, ramble through the tea plantation, and enjoy the wonderful food.
You will head off in search of the elusive rare goat, the Nilgiri Tahr. A visit to Eravikulam National Park, the Tea Museum of Munnar, and top station are all possible, as well as a ride up to Lockhardt gap and down to Lake Devikulam. The scenery in this area will simply blow your mind.
You will leave Munnar and head down through Eravikulam and the Sandlewood forest of Marayoor, traversing the world’s largest tea plantation and into Chinnar Wildlife sanctuary where wild elephants have been seen strolling across the road at times. You will enter into the state of Tamil Nadu, and cut across an area known as "The Coconut Belt" for the mass of coconut plantations, before climbing through 40 Hair Pin bends to the Tea Planters' Bungalow resort set amidst an organic tea estate, at more than 1,400 meters altitude in the Anamalai Hills. The air is clean and bison roam free. You will take a midnight jeep safari in search of panthers, lion tail macaques, wild boar, wild elephants, and Malabar squirrels.
You will set off after breakfast for the seven-hour ride through one of the thickest evergreen forests in India. Like venturing through the Amazon or canopied rainforests of Central Africa, this is a motorcycling experience which is not to be missed. After 80 kilometers, you'll reach Athirapally falls, known as "the Indian Niagara", where you'll stop for lunch and an explore before pressing on to Fort Cochin and the final stop by the shores of the Arabian Sea. You stay in a wonderful boutique hotel with pool for the last night and farewell dinner where beer is once more on the house.
Your onward transfer to the airport after crossing off the most memorable line in your bucket list.

Daniel Benster was born and brought up in Yorkshire, UK. He’s 48 years old. He first came to India in 1992, when he bought his first bike in Delhi, a 350cc Enfield Bullet. That’s where his love affair with India, the bike (which he still owns), and the experience began. Born out of the desire to share this fantastic experience of motorcycling around the Indian subcontinent, Kerala Bike Tours was founded in 1999. Now 26 years and more than 200,000 kilometers on from the first riding with his beloved bike, and 19 years since running his 1st tour, Mr. Benster wants to share his passion with you.
Kerala Bike Tours' operations manager and support vehicle driver is the man who makes everything tick on tour and at the base in Kochi. Born and bred in Kochi, he has a vast network of contacts (everybody knows Niaz in Kochi) and a huge wealth of local knowledge. On tour, he’s always on hand to offer a cold drink, sort out permits, red tape, and any other local ‘difficulties’ with a smile and the right words. And he somehow manages to get Kerala Bike Tours' support vehicle through gaps that you'd think only a motorbike could get through. He's also an expert rider and has led many tours.
This tour starts and ends in Kochi, India. You will travel to Thattekad Bird Sanctuary, Munnar, Anaimalai Hills, and Fort Cochin.
Neela Kurinji is a very special shrub which grows in the Shola Forests of the Indian Western Ghats. The Nilgiri Hills (blue mountains) get their name from this awe-inspiring blue bloom carpet, and what's totally amazing is that it comes out only one time in 12 years. Last time was in 2006, so it's due again this year between August and November.
You will start at the beach with fresh seafood, and climb to the hills and the forest where you can taste wild boar and bacon. There are always many varied vegetarian options, Halal food is also available in most places, and also fresh tea and coffee from the plantations as well as fresh tender coconut water abound. Kerala Bike Tours can always arrange beer if necessary for the guests. Even if you don’t think you like Indian food, you will love the Keralan cuisine.
