Fitness Adventure Holiday in Italy

All rooms at Hotel Villa La Palagina offer a comfortable stay, decorated with beautiful frescoes and equipped with all amenities, including air-conditioning, mini-bar and satellite TV. Guests have the option of a private or double room and larger accommodations may be available upon request. In the restaurant, you can enjoy the delicious dishes of the private chef accompanied by homemade wine and extra virgin olive oil. Add to your meal some extraordinary Italian wine and magnificent views of the two infinity pools and rolling Chianti hills for a truly luxurious dining experience!



This multi-fitness retreat led by Coach Beth Roberts will combine higher-intensity classes with restorative flows and stretches for a week of total-body conditioning. Typically, the mornings will be reserved for a more vigorous workout such as HIIT classes (total-body workouts with timed intervals of bodyweight cardio and strength drills for all levels) and Beth's famous Butts & Guts class (low-impact, strength-based bodyweight workout for all levels with an emphasis on glutes and core.). The afternoon classes will be on the more restorative side with total-body myofascial release exercises followed by gentle stretches to relax and restore at the end of an active day.


Each day of the retreat will present an opportunity to try something new and authentically Italian! In addition to the included breakfast and three fresh, local dinners, you will have one lunch included that you and your group will make yourselves! An expert chef will guide is through a preparing Tuscan menu in this cooking class. On another day, you'll visit the hotel's private winery for a tasting while you learn about the region's famed vino. On yet another day, you will depart on a guided hike to explore the region by foot. And during free time, feel free to sign up for additional excursions like horseback riding or biking through vineyards.


You will be staying at one of the most picturesque properties in Tuscany, perfect for poolside relaxation or sipping a glass of wine while watching the sun go down. There will be free time every day to do your own thing, whether that is signing up for an extra excursion, visiting a neighboring vineyard, or reading a book by the olive groves. Plus, massage services are available (extra cost) if you're looking to treat yourself!


Day 1: Welcome to Italy!

Guests will arrive in Florence by a specified time and take a 40-minute train to the Tuscan town of Figline Valdarno where you will be picked up and transported a few minutes away to the hotel. You will check into your rooms, explore the magnificent property, and come together for introductions and our first class to stretch out after a day of traveling. After some time to relax and shower, you will meet for your welcome dinner (included) designed by the hotel's private chef.

Day 2

Buongiorno! Wake up to views of the Chianti hills and the scent of fresh cappuccinos. You'll have a morning boot camp and then enjoy breakfast under the Tuscan sun. Today, you will go on a hike through the vineyards and olive groves. Upon your return, you'll enjoy a free afternoon to relax by the infinity pools. As sunset rolls around, you'll come together for a myofascial release and stretch class and then have a free night to dine at the hotel or venture into a neighboring town.

Day 3

This morning, you will start with an invigorating workout and breakfast, and then enjoy a free morning and early afternoon. Guests are welcome to lounge around the hotel, go biking, explore a nearby town, or treat yourself to a relaxing massage (additional cost). In the afternoon, you'll visit the resort's vineyard for a light core/stretch class followed by a private tour and tasting. Dinner tonight is included at the hotel.

Day 4

Wake up to a morning Butts & Guts class and breakfast, and then you'll enjoy a free morning. You'll meet for a private cooking class where you'll learn from an expert chef and then enjoy the fruits of your labor for lunch! The rest of the afternoon is free until the group meets for a sunset strength class and then enjoy your second free night for dinner.

Day 5

On this final full day of the retreat, you'll wake up to a total body workout and fresh breakfast. Then the day is free (horseback riding through the vineyard, anyone?)! Other options include biking, visiting the nearby designer outlets, exploring more local vineyards, or simply enjoying the peace and quiet of the hotel's sprawling property. You'll come together in the afternoon for a deep stretch and then the final group dinner at the hotel (included).

Day 6

This morning, you will have an early workout followed by breakfast and goodbyes. A shuttle will be provided town where you will catch a train back to Florence or to wherever your travels are taking you next! For anyone continuing along with the European Fitness Adventure to Mallorca for the adventures in Mallorca retreat, you will head out as a group!

Located in the heart of the Chianti region, the hotel is conveniently located about 30-40 minutes from Florence on a 110-hectare property full of olive groves, vineyards, and forest.

The nearest airport is Florence Airport, Peretola (Amerigo Vespucci Airport) (FLR), which is 50 kilometers from the venue. You can also fly to Pisa International Airport (PSA) or Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ), which are 117 and 138 kilometers respectively.

Driving directions from Milan

  • From Milan/Bologna Autostrada del Sole (A1), Incisa exit (19 kilometers south of the Firenze Sud exit).
  • Continue for Figline (4 kilometers) and then take road SP16 for Greve in Chianti.

Driving directions from Naples

  • From Naples/Rome Autostrada del Sole (A1), exit Valdarno (23 kilometers north of the Arezzo exit).
