In this exclusive, custom-designed, couple’s retreat, participants (whether married, engaged, starting a new relationship, or in a committed partnership [gay or straight]) will learn how to re-connect with each other on multiple levels. Experiencing transformation as you and your partner experience different healing practices as you get away and explore the sacred, healing, beautiful, and romantic Gozo island.
Welcome to L’Għarix Temple Retreat on Gozo, one of the Maltese islands. L’Għarix (La Reesh) means Sanctuary in Maltese and it is a place of healing and relaxation.
L’Gharix is a 750-year-old farmhouse and it is built from the local limestone and is said to be the second oldest house in the town. Visiting the retreat is an opportunity to see the beautiful architecture and deep history of Xagħra and the other villages on this magical island.
In the front garden, there is an ancient underground healing cave. This is where to facilitate guided meditations and sound healing sessions with Tibetan singing bowls.
Guests have a choice of two bedrooms, the double Rose room, and the single Orchid room. Both bedrooms have an outside entrance with a private balcony with a view of the sea. L’Għarix is also a healing space. They provide fresh linen and towels, complimentary toiletries and hair dryer, and a fan in summer (or heater and electric blanket in winter). There is also complementary Wi-Fi.
Please note: The sleigh bed in Rose's room is not suitable for someone whose height is above 185 centimeters, as the mattress is 190 centimeters. L’Għarix is also home to their cats – George and Leia, and their Pomeranian (dog) Lucy.
Many of you struggle with challenges in your relationships and there comes a point when you realise you need outside help to turn things around. In this three-day retreat, you will explore what your love needs are, and learn how to first love yourself. Because, after all, if you don’t love yourself - how can you ask this of anyone else?
As individuals, you don’t always know what your self-love needs are, and how to satisfy these yearnings. This creates inner conflict as there is an inherent longing to fulfill deep wants, desires, and beliefs but often no knowledge of what these are, or how to fulfill them.
It all starts with understanding your emotion, needs, and desires - and connecting with your inner self so that you feel acknowledged and supported in a way that makes sense for you. The next part is to be open to understanding what the love language of your partner or loved one is so that you can both begin to communicate each other’s language of love to create a deeper level of connection and trust.
During the sessions, Karin shows you how to translate this wisdom into a great personal relationship as well as the skills to deeply align with your significant other (and other loved ones) in a way that makes sense for you both.
Through a combination of ancient spiritual practices and modern-day therapeutic techniques, Karin, the founder of “L’Gharix Temple Retreat” creates a safe space for growth and bliss to unfold during her custom-designed retreats. She is a Transpersonal Hypnotherapist, energy, and sound healer, and an experienced healing retreat facilitator.
Through her modalities and practices, she encourages her retreat participants to explore the benefits of connection, oneness, healing, and peace available to all. Her training enables her to offer her abilities as a healer and a retreat facilitator.
By working with energy and clearing that which is no longer of service and creating the space for new energies to flow, Karin supports her clients in experiencing and achieving the tranquility and inner peace they require in their daily lives. Using the power of meditation, hypnotherapy, healing sound baths, rituals, and breathwork, you will let go of what no longer serves you and will open your heart to welcome more love, joy, and peace into your life and into your relationship.
If you have been seeking a deeper connection in your relationship as well more meaning in your life, then L’Gharix is the perfect place for you to bond with your partner and your own inner being. In this safe, sacred space, Karin will lead you into a deeper understanding of who you as well as who your loved one is and share some relationship skills to assist you in deepening your relationship and navigating your life journey together.
Karin Laing is an internationally certified transpersonal hypnotherapist, past-life regression therapist, and energy healer. Karin specializes in transformational coaching and intuitive counseling, helping her clients achieve clarity and move forward in their lives. Karin is a fully licensed and registered therapist. In 2018, she followed her soul purpose and moved her practice from her hometown of Johannesburg, South Africa to the beautiful Mediterranean island of Gozo (Malta) where she established L’Għarix Temple Retreat. L’Għarix (La Reesh) means “Sanctuary” in Maltese.
L’Għarix Temple Retreat, on the beautiful Mediterranean island of Gozo, is built a hundred meters behind the Ġgantija temples which are recognized by UNESCO as the oldest freestanding buildings in the world.
They are over 7,500 years old, older than Stonehenge and the pyramids in Egypt. L’Għarix is said to have been built on a womb temple and is more than 750 years old. L’Għarix (pronounced La Reesh) is a 5-minute walk from the Xagħra (pronounced shaa-ra) town center. Visitors from all over the globe are drawn to the Ggantija Temple, which is one hundred and fifty meters away from L’Gharix.
There are some known and other lesser-known temples to explore, as well as lovely beaches to visit. The sunsets are memorable and many visitors experience profound healing on this island.
Gozo is one of 21 islands that make up the Maltese archipelago. Inhabited for thousands of years, it shows evidence of historic immigration and rule by the Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, Sicilians, French and British, among others.
It’s known for its Neolithic Ġgantija Temple ruins, rural hiking paths, beaches, and scuba-diving sites. Picturesque ix-Xagħra has a particularly rich historical heritage with many historical sites, several museums, beaches, hiking trails, shopping, ocean excursions, and more.
Gozo is the second largest of the three islands and they enjoy a relaxed, calm slow rhythm of life. The sandstone buildings, Baroque churches, and unspoilt countryside add to create this peaceful atmosphere.
