Let’s Eat The World has hand-selected beautiful luxurious homes that are both convenient for their location and outstanding amenities. Which house will be used for the week is dependent on its availability but rest assured that your comfort has been taken into consideration. These are self-catered homes but they have ensured that you are still being pampered.

Let’s Eat The World primarily can accommodate double-occupancy at most of the homes but single travelers are welcome. A supplemental single occupancy fee will be required.

All cooking lessons unless otherwise indicated, will take place directly at the house. All participants stay together in the same house in order to create a convivial and cohesive group but you will have plenty of space to enjoy time to yourself as needed.

All homes have a pool so don't forget your swimsuit!

If you would like more details about specific homes on the dates in which you are interested, you can always send Let’s Eat The World an inquiry and they would be happy to provide you with more information.

Program

Week in Uzès

While Let's Eat The World adjusts its program based on season, weather, and the availability of the producers and tour partners, here is a sample of one of the prior programs they held.

Day 1 (Saturday): Arrival day

Pick up from Avignon TGV at 3:30 p.m. to bring you the vacation rental. Arrive at the guest house around 4:30 p.m.

There will be a welcome dinner cocktail at around 6:30 p.m. To get you excited about the week ahead, Let’s Eat The World has arranged a "cocktail dinatoire" at the guesthouse around 6:30 p.m., a chance to meet your chef instructor and the team who will be part of making your French cooking vacation spectacular. Meal included.

Day 2 (Sunday): Market day in Nîmes

Start the day with a French continental breakfast at the guesthouse. Out of the kitchen and into the market. Sunday is a day to explore the covered market of Nîmes to select not only what you will eat for today's lunch but also get a glimpse and taste of the foods that are an essential part of the Mediterranean diet.

You'll return to the house to enjoy some of what you bought in Nîmes over a light lunch. Evening free!

Day 3 (Monday): First day of class

The morning will start with a continental breakfast at the guesthouse. After breakfast, you will start cooking and preparing for today's lunch that you will enjoy together. After lunch, you will take a tour of a local cheese producer, a chance to stretch your legs and take in the countryside.

Soirée Paëlla & Sangria - Yes, the Paëlla is traditionally Spanish but Southern France has long embraced this magnificent, festive dish.

Day 4 (Tuesday): Winery tour

Discover the wines of the region with a half-day tour at a picturesque winery selected by the wine specialist. He will be your guide during this crash course into the wines of the Languedoc (Occitanie). A light Provençal picnic basket lunch will be prepared for you by chef Eric. You'll resume cooking in the afternoon with a quick lesson.

Free evening.

Day 5 (Wednesday): Market day in Uzès

The morning will start with a French continental breakfast at the guesthouse. You will be picked up and taken to the Uzès "marché des producteurs” taking place on the Place aux Herbes. Take in this beautiful medieval city and shop like a local with chef Eric for seasonal produce to take back to the house and prepare together for a 4-course luncheon.

After a lunch break, you will resume cooking to prepare for tomorrow’s picnic. Early evening apéritif at the Pont du Gard. Take in this magnificently preserved UNESCO World Heritage site - not to be missed, while you enjoy wine and a light pre-dinner meal. For most of you, this will be more than enough for the evening but if not, Let’s Eat The World will be happy to make recommendations for dining out.

Evening free post apéritif.

Day 6 (Thursday): Déjeuner sur l'herbe

Start the day with a French continental breakfast before being picked up for an early morning of bread-making. Bake your baguettes and get excited for the fabulous picnic lunch that awaits you. You will be whisked off to a secluded location for a casual and delicious afternoon.

Day 7 (Friday): Final cooking day

The morning will start with a French continental breakfast at the guesthouse. Off to class to prepare your lunch for the day. Take a break after lunch to relax. For your final evening together, Let's Eat the World will take you out for a wonderful dinner at one of the team's favorite restaurants.

What you will be cooking

The chefs of Let's Eat The World always try to cook with the seasons so their menus will vary slightly from month to month. They have access to so many wonderful markets in the South of France and they cannot wait to have you discover some of the classics and revisit recipes of Provencal and Mediterranean cuisine for the perfect Mediterranean cooking class.

Here is a sample of some of the preparations they have already made during their past French culinary holiday:

Some recipes will require working collectively both for their realization as well as limit unnecessary food waste but do not worry you will have plenty of opportunities to get your hands dirty.

The examples of dishes you may do in class together are never fixed. All recipes are based on seasonal availability as well as time constraints and you. Your input is all part of the menu creation.
