Enjoy six days of cooking, baking, touring, and tasting. Hands-on French cooking classes. Explore markets, visit producers, and be immersed in French cuisine. All skill levels are welcome. Seven nights' lodging included. You'll arrive on Saturday and depart the following Saturday after a culinary week you won't soon forget. This is a tour that is chef-created with home cooks in mind. This is more than just a cooking class, it is an immersion into French culture and cuisine.
Let’s Eat The World has hand-selected beautiful luxurious homes that are both convenient for their location and outstanding amenities. Which house will be used for the week is dependent on its availability but rest assured that your comfort has been taken into consideration. These are self-catered homes but they have ensured that you are still being pampered.
Let’s Eat The World primarily can accommodate double-occupancy at most of the homes but single travelers are welcome. A supplemental single occupancy fee will be required.
All cooking lessons unless otherwise indicated, will take place directly at the house. All participants stay together in the same house in order to create a convivial and cohesive group but you will have plenty of space to enjoy time to yourself as needed.
All homes have a pool so don't forget your swimsuit!

While Let's Eat The World adjusts its program based on season, weather, and the availability of the producers and tour partners, here is a sample of one of the prior programs they held.
Pick up from Avignon TGV at 3:30 p.m. to bring you the vacation rental. Arrive at the guest house around 4:30 p.m.
There will be a welcome dinner cocktail at around 6:30 p.m. To get you excited about the week ahead, Let’s Eat The World has arranged a "cocktail dinatoire" at the guesthouse around 6:30 p.m., a chance to meet your chef instructor and the team who will be part of making your French cooking vacation spectacular. Meal included.
Start the day with a French continental breakfast at the guesthouse. Out of the kitchen and into the market. Sunday is a day to explore the covered market of Nîmes to select not only what you will eat for today's lunch but also get a glimpse and taste of the foods that are an essential part of the Mediterranean diet.
You'll return to the house to enjoy some of what you bought in Nîmes over a light lunch. Evening free!
The morning will start with a continental breakfast at the guesthouse. After breakfast, you will start cooking and preparing for today's lunch that you will enjoy together. After lunch, you will take a tour of a local cheese producer, a chance to stretch your legs and take in the countryside.
Soirée Paëlla & Sangria - Yes, the Paëlla is traditionally Spanish but Southern France has long embraced this magnificent, festive dish.
Discover the wines of the region with a half-day tour at a picturesque winery selected by the wine specialist. He will be your guide during this crash course into the wines of the Languedoc (Occitanie). A light Provençal picnic basket lunch will be prepared for you by chef Eric. You'll resume cooking in the afternoon with a quick lesson.

The morning will start with a French continental breakfast at the guesthouse. You will be picked up and taken to the Uzès "marché des producteurs” taking place on the Place aux Herbes. Take in this beautiful medieval city and shop like a local with chef Eric for seasonal produce to take back to the house and prepare together for a 4-course luncheon.
After a lunch break, you will resume cooking to prepare for tomorrow’s picnic. Early evening apéritif at the Pont du Gard. Take in this magnificently preserved UNESCO World Heritage site - not to be missed, while you enjoy wine and a light pre-dinner meal. For most of you, this will be more than enough for the evening but if not, Let’s Eat The World will be happy to make recommendations for dining out.

Start the day with a French continental breakfast before being picked up for an early morning of bread-making. Bake your baguettes and get excited for the fabulous picnic lunch that awaits you. You will be whisked off to a secluded location for a casual and delicious afternoon.
The morning will start with a French continental breakfast at the guesthouse. Off to class to prepare your lunch for the day. Take a break after lunch to relax. For your final evening together, Let's Eat the World will take you out for a wonderful dinner at one of the team's favorite restaurants.
A French continental breakfast will be served at the guesthouse before check out and pick up for the return to Avignon TGV at 10 a.m.

Karen is a guide and local expert during our culinary experience in Uzès. A mom, avid cook, and food & wine enthusiast, she loves meeting people of different origins as she sees it as a way to open your eyes to the world around us. For her meal time is a moment of sharing, exchange, and well-being. She adds her extensive knowledge of the region in which she has lived for over 35 years to our team and will be more than happy to offer suggestions on how to enjoy the Pays d’Uzès.
You will be focusing on French cuisine during your holidays. You will go from simple to elaborate meals such as bread, pastries as well as desserts, and main dishes, highlighting the fresh and local produce of the south of France.
Daily breakfast will be served. All lunches during the days of your cooking classes including three to four dinners are included in the price. There will be one dinner at a selected gastronomic restaurant. Please let Let's Eat The World know in advance about any of your allergies or other food restrictions that they should be aware of.
The chefs of Let's Eat The World always try to cook with the seasons so their menus will vary slightly from month to month. They have access to so many wonderful markets in the South of France and they cannot wait to have you discover some of the classics and revisit recipes of Provencal and Mediterranean cuisine for the perfect Mediterranean cooking class.

This is a hands-on class where you will get to participate in the preparation of numerous French specialties. Some recipes will require working collectively both for their realization as well as limit unnecessary food waste but do not worry you will have plenty of opportunities to get your hands dirty.
The examples of dishes you may do in class together are never fixed. All recipes are based on seasonal availability as well as time constraints and you. Your input is all part of the menu creation.
The program week is modifiable under the same conditions. This hopefully will be able to give you a little idea of what you can expect during your week in Uzès without giving away all the surprises that await you.
When you're not in your cooking class or excursions, you may visit the nearby city of Nîmes, Avignon, or Aigues Mortes. Uzès is a lovely medieval and historic city whose streets are paved with cobblestones. The Duke's place which faces the town hall is open to the public. Not only that, you may enjoy the cafés, restaurants, and small shops in the city.
The village of Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie is renowned for its artisan potters, painters, and craftsmen. Hence, in your free time, you might want to visit the pottery museum and drop into the ateliers of the many ceramists living and working in the village.

Most of the participants chose to fly into Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) and take the train down to Avignon TGV where Let’s Eat The World offers a scheduled pick up at 3:30 p.m. Avignon is about 45 minutes from Uzès.
If you fly into Nice or Provence Airport (MRS) you will need to verify the transfer to arrive at Avignon TGV. Let’s Eat The World would be happy to provide tips and will send you full pick-up details for the complimentary transfer from Avignon TGV once you have booked and closure to the arrival date. Please note that this is a grouped transfer.
You can also plan to arrive by train into Avignon TGV so you can benefit from the pickup. Trains run directly from CDG airport in Paris or if you are already in Paris, you would take the train from Gare de Lyon station.
