Detailed itinerary:

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City arrival

Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) in Ho Chi Minh City, you will be welcomed by the driver (no guide) and transferred downtown, then you will check in at your hotel and be free at leisure.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh City - Hoi An by flight

After breakfast, it will take only a two and a half-hour pleasant drive to Ben Tre Province, crossing Rach Mieu bridge. Upon arrival in Hung Vuong Pier, you will hop on a motorized boat on Ben Tre River, one of the tributaries of the Mekong River, while sightseeing lively activities along the river such as fishing and boats transferring fruits, flowers, and rice to local markets.

The first stop will be at a brick kiln to see how to make bricks traditionally by printing and baking. Those brick kilns are open only in summertime, when there's enough sunshine to dry bricks.

You will continue to visit one coconut processing workshop located along the canals, then return to the boat and go through natural scissors creeks to a village and see some local houses, with people making sleeping mats and enjoying some local fruits.

Take a tuk-tuk (motorized cart) or bicycle on shady paths, pass by green rice fields and vegetable plains to be able to touch on real life, and find out about tropical culture from peasants. Then, you'll have lunch at a local riverside restaurant.

After lunch, you will take a rowing-boat along a beautiful water palm creek before boarding the motorized boat and being transferred back to the pier. You will then return to Ho Chi Minh City for a flight to Danang.

Upon landing, you’ll be greeted by Little Vietnam Tours' driver (no guide) and proceed 30 kilometers further to Hoi An. where you'll check in at your hotel and stay overnight.

Day 4: Hoi An - Private scooter tour to the villages

Tour will start at your hotel, where Little Vietnam Tours' guide and Vespa driver will go to pick up you up, then you will go to meeting point to join with the group and start exploring the Hoi An countryside and rural villages.

Explore the countryside around Hoi An on the back of a vintage Vespa and experience something a little different during your stay. You will get to see the countryside, ride through the rice paddies, and visit some local businesses where you will learn more about the way of life in that part of Vietnam.

Little Vietnam Tours will show you a side of Hoi An that most visitors miss out on. You will start the day by driving out of Hoi An town and seeing beautiful scenery, including rice paddies and vegetable plantations. The trip will include a stop where you will see banh dap (a local rice flour dish) being made, and you can give it a go yourself!

You will also see local weavers making straw mats, ride on the back of a Vespa along the bank of the river, and see a fish farm. It will also be amazing to see a fish trap where local people do their fishing.

The ride will take you through and past a bridge stop to see people build a fishing boat, as well as cross a traditional bridge built completely from bamboo. On the bamboo boat, you will get the chance to see a vast offish farm. Your guides will give you information about some of the history and local traditions.

The tour will last around four hours and will include a coffee break along the way, finishing off with a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Little Vietnam Tours looks forward to showing you another side of Hoi An!

You'll have breakfast at your hotel and be free in the morning. In the early afternoon, you will meet Little Vietnam Tours' driver and transfer to the airport, then board a flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival, you’ll be met by their driver (no guide) and transferred downtown to check in at your hotel.

Day 7: Hanoi - Private scooter tour to explore the city’s highlights

The best way to travel in Vietnam is by Vespa scooters. You will experience the authentic Hanoi more than you ever could on a hot and crowded bus tour.

You will have a unique and exciting Hanoian experience. Riding pillion behind, Little Vietnam Tours' drivers will take you to the must-see landmarks as you ride away from the tourist areas and through small alleys that only a true native Hanoian would know.

Some of the places included in the tours are City Gate, Long Bien Bridge, West Lake, Tay Ho Temple, Van Nien Pagoda, the local market, railway track, parts of New Hanoi city, Ngu Hiep Lake with B-52 Bomber wreckage, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, a 1,000-year-old citadel, French Quarter, and lunch at a special restaurant!

Day 8: Hanoi - Bai Tu Long Bay - Overnight on boat

After breakfast, you will depart by road to Bai Tu Long Bay, then travel through the rich farmlands of the delta of Red River and the landscape of rice fields. You'll see the water buffalo as well as the daily life of the Vietnamese village. Upon arrival at the pier by noontime, you'll board your cruise and have lunch on board.

The cruise will pass by many rocks and islets in many funny shapes. The cruise may stop for a while for time to visit one of the best caves on the bay. Later on, the boat will move to the docking area for an overnight stay. You'll have dinner and sleep on the boat.

Day 9: Bai Tu Long Bay - Hanoi

After greeting the sun from the sea horizon, you can join a Tai chi lesson for some morning exercise and watch the sunrise over the bay before breakfast. You will visit a beautiful limestone grotto, then head back to the boat for a final glimpse of Ha Long Bay while cruising back to the dock.

You will disembark at around 11:00, then your driver will transfer you back to Hanoi.
