Mangosteen Ayurveda & Wellness Resort's villas have been designed to be naturally cool, with very high insulation and air ventilation through the roof. Even without air-conditioning, you will feel comfortable and relaxed.
The air-conditioning is working quietly, the temperature control is precise and you can reach it from your bed. Mattresses are the first grade for a very comfortable sleep and sweet dreams. Combined with the tranquility of the resort, guests usually oversleep, coming late for their sumptuous fresh breakfast.
The tropical gardens are kept natural, cultured but not over designed, attracting local animals such as geckos, birds, frogs and butterflies, also a result of environmentally friendly pest control systems.
Royal Balcony Jacuzzi Villa
Royal Balcony Jacuzzi Villas provides great views from the second floor and space for up to three adults, sleeping comfortably in king size beds. The Royal Balcony Villas are equipped with all amenities you could possibly imagine and as they are located on the top of the Mangosteen hillside, they provide you with the best views. 98 square meters of living space, generous even for a king.
It has outdoor balcony Jacuzzis and private terraces with hammocks, surrounded by tropical gardens for a relaxed resort life. The interior design is by John Underwood and it Asian-themed with rich colors and natural materials. Teak wood and terracotta floors, teak windows, and a wealth of beautiful textiles are used making you feel at home quickly.
Deluxe Jacuzzi Villa
The Mangosteen Deluxe Jacuzzi Villas, uniquely designed and centrally located in the resort is very popular amongst Mangosteen return guests. Increased room size allows fitting a double bed plus a single bed in every villa so that they can be booked for three people.
A huge standing lamp is producing interesting shadows and the bathroom has the biggest air trumpet you have ever seen. It has a truly extravagant design combined with the best comfort and sea views! The interior design is by John Underwood.
The use of natural materials such as teak wood and terracotta, soft and rich colors, and heavy materials make you feel comfortable quickly.
Superior Jacuzzi Villa
Superior Jacuzzi Villa is a designer spa villa with extra comfort - far from ordinary! These 58 square meter villas provide guest with a spacious, large, and private space. A comfortable seating area, spacious al-fresco bathrooms with an outside garden rain-shower and a terrace, all designed to ensure an enjoyable stay.
The rooms are well-fitted out with a variety of unique interior features, designed by John Underwood. Warm tones, rich colors, heavy wooden furniture and mostly natural materials used, combined with an almost timeless design, make you feel comfortable right away.

The experienced Reiki Master, with her gifted healing hands, guides you into the feel of energy flow in you. Reiki allows, through the transfer of universal energy, to relax and in some cases to treat and cure illness.

Instructors
Dr. Nezeem Kadavil Uthuman
Dr. Nezeem was born and brought up in an Ayurveda background in Kerala, inspired by his father who was a Gov. Ayurvedic Medical Officer having experience of over 50 years. From childhood until now he has been influenced by the success of his father in his Ayurveda practicing skills. He decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and successfully studied “Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (BAMS)” and also got a “PG Diploma in Hospital Management”. To further enhance his skills, he specialized in Marma Therapy.
Daosuk Dao Sethi
Dao is an enthusiastic yoga instructor who is proficient in Yin, Hatha yoga, and Vinyasa yoga. She started practicing yoga in 2015 and hasn’t stopped since. In 2018, she traveled to India to master the arts of yoga teaching where she received her first training certificate from Satyam Vedic Yoga School in Rishikesh. Aside from yoga, Dao is also a crystal bowl therapy spiritual coach. Dao teaches yoga focusing on her students. Having instructed students from a wide range of skill levels, she is very experienced with figuring out what is best for her students and helping them reach their goals.
Koong Jiraphorn
Koong has been passionate about yoga for a long time. She had the opportunity to train as a yoga teacher in Rishikesh, India, and received the certificate from Satyam Vedic Yoga School with Yogacharya Somdutt Amoli. She is now living in Phuket to teach yoga at different yoga centers. When she had the opportunity, she went to many workshops to gain new knowledge, because she thought that learning was endless. Since 2017, she has taught Vinyasa yoga at the Mangosteen Resort.
Orlando Matos Abreu
Hatha yoga instructor, specializing in Yoga Therapy and Spine Rejuvenation. With a predominant background in Hatha yoga, Orlando has also incorporated Vinyasa and Yin yoga, creating different therapeutic sequences suitable for all ages and levels! Combining different breathing techniques and mental focus, this relaxing yet dynamic therapeutic approach continues helping many with not only flexibility but also chronic pain balancing mind and body! Orlando passed the RYS-500 Yoga Shiromani Teacher Training with Dr. Om Prakesh in Uttarakhand, Himalaya, India, in January 2018.
Kirstin Gourlay
Kirstin has been living in Thailand since 2015 and teaches yoga and meditation. She is an Access Bars Energy Healing Practitioner, as well as a holistic wellness consultant. At Mangosteen Resort, she is teaching Restorative and Yin-based yoga classes, suitable for all levels, and helps her guests to find that this is where their mind, body and soul can find balance and peace.
Ann Kunticha
Ann Kunticha is a yoga instructor, specializing in Hatha, Vinyasa, and Arail yoga. In 2014, she took a yoga training course at Lanna yoga Chiang Mai learning Hatha and Vinyasa yoga. In 2017, she completed 100-hour yoga training at Hari Om Yoga Vidya in Rishikesh. In the same year, she also received an Aerial yoga certificate of completion (10-hour workshop). The following year, she completed 200-hour Hatha Ashtanga yoga teacher training, continuing her previous 100-hour from Hari Om Yoga (Yoga training at Satyam Vedic Yoga School).
Nuya Laksanachan
Her yoga journey began 2006; after the 1st class she became instantly hooked, and soon after travelled to India to study more for in-depth self-practice. Since qualifying as an instructor in 2014, she's now completed further qualifications in Aerial Yoga, Acro Yoga, and Acroyoga Fit. In classes she combines creative sequencing, playfulness, and inspiration to help students to deepen their practice, to find a harmony within themselves, to thrive in life by nurturing body, mind and soul with yoga. Her hope is that all students step off the mat feeling refreshed, nourished and balanced.

The Mangosteen Ayurveda & Wellness Spa is located in the south of Phuket on a private hillside, offering spectacular ocean views over four bays and many surrounding islands. The location is ideal for travelers looking for peace and tranquility but is still not too far from the busier beaches.

Diving
During Monday afternoons at the pool, Sea Bees Diving, one of Phuket's best dive operators, located at Chalong Pier, are offering free diving lessons for everybody to try. Come and try yourself. Of course if you like to try it out in the sea, Sea Bees are also highly recommended. Explore the corals, the colorful fishes of the Andaman Sea.

Phang Nga Bay sea canoe
Phangna Bay with its beautiful limestone rocks and islands is one of the most stunning must see attractions of Phuket. The bay is best to be explored by sea canoe. Watch the wildlife, paddle through narrow bat caves and fantastic lagoons.
The bay can be explored at almost any weather condition, it is well protected from waves and sunshine is not absolutely necessary.
Since Mangosteen Resort has opened, the best sea canoe trip is always recommended, the John Gray Hong by Starlight. Johns trip is the best to recommend and an experience not to be missed.
Salt-water swimming pool
The large free form swimming pool is salt-water treated and the heart of the property. It is open 24 hours with water temperatures around 30 degrees. There is generous space for everybody and even with the resort fully booked, the pool area will not feel crowded.
Thai cooking classes
Thai food is famous around the world and with Asia shops mushrooming in almost every country and city worldwide, more and more people like to cook some of the tasteful and spicy dishes at home. Book a Thai cooking class with the resorts chef and learn by doing.
