The AyurYoga Shodhana wellness retreat begins with a detailed consultation with a specialist Ayurvedic doctor. The consultant determines your dosha and other parameters of the body based upon Ayurvedic examination principles and prescribes the treatments most appropriate to your body needs. These treatments vary from therapeutic treatments working from outside, herbal tea and concoctions to work from the inside, relaxing massages for pampering the mind, and yoga and meditation for nurturing the soul.
Shodhana translates to purify, for perfect well-being, a physical, mental and spiritual balance is required. Dr. Nezeem was born and brought up in an Ayurveda background in Kerala, inspired by his father who was a Gov. Ayurvedic Medical Officer having experience of over 50 years. From childhood until now he has been influenced by the success of his father in his Ayurveda practicing skills. He decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and successfully studied “Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (BAMS)” and also got a “PG Diploma in Hospital Management”. To further enhance his skills, he specialized in Marma Therapy.
Dao is an enthusiastic yoga instructor who is proficient in Yin, Hatha yoga, and Vinyasa yoga. She started practicing yoga in 2015 and hasn’t stopped since. In 2018, she traveled to India to master the arts of yoga teaching where she received her first training certificate from Satyam Vedic Yoga School in Rishikesh. Aside from yoga, Dao is also a crystal bowl therapy spiritual coach. Dao teaches yoga focusing on her students. Having instructed students from a wide range of skill levels, she is very experienced with figuring out what is best for her students and helping them reach their goals.
Koong is passionate about yoga for a long time. She had the opportunity to train as a yoga teacher in Rishikesh, India, and received the certificate from Satyam Vedic Yoga School with Yogacharya Somdutt Amoli. She is now living in Phuket to teach yoga at different yoga centers. When she had the opportunity, she went to many workshops to gain new knowledge, because she thought that learning was endless. Since 2017, she has taught Vinyasa yoga at the Mangosteen Resort.
Hatha Yoga Instructor, specializing in Yoga Therapy and Spine Rejuvenation. With a predominant background in Hatha yoga, Orlando has also incorporated Vinyasa and Yin yoga creating different therapeutic sequences suitable for all ages and levels! Combining different breathing techniques and mental focus, this relaxing yet dynamic therapeutic approach continues helping many with not only flexibility but also chronic pain balancing mind and body! Orlando passed the RYS-500 Yoga Shiromani Teacher Training with Dr. Om Prakesh in Uttarakhand, Himalaya, India, in January 2018.
She has been living in Thailand since 2015 and teaches yoga and meditation. She is an Access Bars Energy Healing Practitioner, as well as a holistic wellness consultant. At Mangosteen Resort, she is teaching Restorative and Yin-based yoga classes, suitable for all levels, and helps her guests to find that this is where their mind, body and soul can find balance and peace.
Ann Kunticha is a yoga instructor, specializing in Hatha, Vinyasa, and Arail yoga. In 2014, she took a yoga training course at Lanna yoga Chiang Mai learning Hatha and Vinyasa yoga. In 2017, she completed 100-hour yoga training at Hari Om Yoga Vidya in Rishikesh. In the same year, she also received an Aerial yoga certificate of completion (10-hour workshop). The following year, she completed 200-hour Hatha Ashtanga yoga teacher training, continuing her previous 100-hour from Hari Om Yoga (Yoga training at Satyam Vedic Yoga School).
Her yoga journey began 2006; after the 1st class she became instantly hooked, and soon after travelled to India to study more for in-depth self-practice. Since qualifying as an instructor in 2014, she's now completed further qualifications in Aerial Yoga, Acro Yoga, and Acroyoga Fit. In classes she combines creative sequencing, playfulness, and inspiration to help students to deepen their practice, to find a harmony within themselves, to thrive in life by nurturing body, mind and soul with yoga. Her hope is that all students step off the mat feeling refreshed, nourished and balanced.
Sagar was born and raised in Rishikesh, India, also known as the capital of Yoga. In 2012, he started learning Hatha Yoga and continued his yogic studies in Ashtanga Yoga and alignment techniques. His many years of experience in teaching yoga, as an instructor and Yoga Teacher trainings, combined with his skills as an Ayurvedic therapist brought him to the Mangosteen as a Yoga Teacher and expert Wellness Coordinator.

The Satvik diet is a purely vegetarian diet that includes seasonally fresh fruit and vegetables, whole grains, pulses, sprouts, nuts, seeds, honey, fresh herbs, milk, and dairy products that are free from animal cruelty and drinking a lot of spring water. These foods raise satvik qualities such as a light body, calmness, peaceful mind, serenity and help to achieve a meditative state. It is the diet of true Yogis, and it is recommended to all the guests who came for detox, rejuvenation, Pancha Karma treatments or anyone who is open to explore, experience or live a healthy and mindful lifestyle.
The Satvik diet promotes moderate, slow, and mindful eating. The Ayurvedic and Satvik diet are not the same. The Ayurvedic diet is different for every individual, for every Dosha (body-constitution) and for every disbalance. Apart from nourishment and cleansing, it aims to aid the healing process of the specific condition and bring the system into a balanced state. Phang-Nga Bay with its beautiful limestone rocks and islands is one of the most stunning must-see attractions of Phuket. The bay is best to be explored by sea canoe. Watch the wildlife, paddle through narrow bat caves and fantastic lagoons. The bay can be explored in almost any weather condition, it is well protected from waves and sunshine is not absolutely necessary.
