Matrika Yoga School seamlessly weaves together the rich traditions of BKS Iyengar (emphasizing alignment and therapeutic yoga), the authentic Hatha Yoga of Satyananda, and the profound philosophical underpinnings of Kashmir Tantric Shivaism (non-dualism). Matrika's approach extends beyond giving significance to Vinyasa Krama, ensuring that each participant learns to practice yoga in alignment with their individual physical, emotional, and respiratory conditions.
Moreover, Matrika's teachings incorporate a deep understanding of physical and energy anatomy, transforming their retreats into holistic journeys of personal development and heightened awareness. Special emphasis is placed on structural body alignment and the practice of pranayama or breathing techniques.
Classes will be conducted in both English and/or Spanish, fostering an inclusive and accessible environment for all participants.
These yoga and meditation deepening and immersion retreats are aimed at yoga and meditation practitioners with previous experience who want to deepen their yogic and meditative practice in an experiential way in the middle of nature. A deepening cycle that you can join whenever you want and complete it at your own pace.
These retreats are taught from the integration of Iyengar yoga, Hatha, Vinyasa Krama and traditional Kashmir Tantra. Meditative arts such as sound vibration, meditative dances (tandava and Sufi gyro) and voice work (mantra chanting and voice release) are part of the methodology of our school. A contemporary look at self discovery using contemporary body techniques.
In these retreats, you will practice meditations that come from Tibetan Buddhism, Shivaite practices of contemplation and active meditations.
