Toadhall is an idyllic location for a retreat. It is quiet and peaceful with no passing traffic and enjoys breathtaking scenery. There are beautiful walks along the clifftops leading to beaches, caves, rock arches, fascinating geological formations, and peaceful tranquil spots for mindful movement.

About the program

Mindfulness meditation has been scientifically shown to decrease depression, distraction, anxiety, rumination, emotional reactivity, and more. A mindfulness retreat is an ideal opportunity to simply focus on reconnecting with yourself and becoming more present and aware. When you are more mindful, you are more open to new ideas, increased creativity, and an enhanced sense of purpose. This retreat will include a variety of mindful meditation practices, experiential work, and group discussions.

After completing this program, you will feel well-equipped with the tools learned to integrate mindfulness into your daily life. Mindfulness will increase your level of awareness of yourself and others in each and every moment. This increased awareness brings choice and ultimately more freedom.

Mindfulness can help you reduce stress levels at work or home, become more creative and open to new ideas, focus more, and feel a general improvement in your well-being. This weekend is suitable for beginners and anyone who seeks the following:

Day 1 - Friday

  • 14:00 Arrival, time to settle in and relax or go for a walk along the clifftops
  • 18:00 Opening meditation (if arriving later, this meditation will be done after dinner)
  • 19:30 Dinner
  • 21:00 Calming candlelit mindful meditation

Day 2 - Saturday

  • 08:00 Breakfast
  • 10:00 - 16:00 Mindfulness workshops (two 120-minute sessions) with breaks for lunch and refreshments (you will be spending time outdoors during these workshops, weather permitting)
  • 19:00 Dinner

Day 3 - Sunday

  • 08:30 Breakfast
  • 10:00 - 15:00 Mindfulness workshops (two 120-minute sessions) including a walk in nature
  • 15:30 Tea before heading home

Book your flight to arrive at one of the following airports:

From Edinburgh Airport (EDI)

You can get a bus or tram into the city center where you will be able to get a train to Stonehaven. Mindfulness Balance will arrange for you to be picked up free of charge from Stonehaven railway station. The return train fare from Edinburgh to Stonehaven will cost approximately 50 GBP.

From Glasgow Airport (GLA)

You can get a train from the airport to Stonehaven which will cost approximately 69 to 85 GBP. This is not a direct train. Mindfulness Balance will arrange for you to be picked up from Stonehaven railway station free of charge.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 24% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 28 days before arrival.
